1. “If you were shrunk to the size of a pencil and put in a blender, how would you get out?”
Brace my back against the opposite side of the blender and chimney up the walls.
2. “What is the philosophy of Martial Arts?”
Depends on the Martial Art.
3. “Explain [to] me what has happened in this country during the last 10 years.”
We elected a retard, killed people for 8 years and then the economy took a shit right around the time a qualified black guy took over.
4. “Rate yourself on a scale of 1 to 10 how weird you are.”
I range from 6.5 to 8.5 depending on the day.
5. “How many basketball[s] can you fit in this room[?]”
Which room?
6. “Out of 25 horses, pick the fastest 3 horses. In each race, only 5 horses can run at the same time. What is the minimum number of races required?”
5? I dunno.
7. “Given the numbers 1 to 1000, what is the minimum numbers guesses needed to find a specific number if you are given the hint "higher" or "lower" for each guess you make.”

Apparently as well as assuming that it's a math problem you're also inserting your own skewed (and wrong) definition of the word race.
I still have a fundamental issue with the question as it's worded. The number of races that are "required" is 0 because it still doesn't actually define why any races are required or what they would be required for. As I said before, I just have to assume that the vague and misleading wording is done on purpose to see how you'll react.

see, you're still missing my entire point. You've gone ahead and assumed that you're supposed to solve this as a math problem and started inserting your own definitions, restrictions, and interpretations into the question. You're thinking inside the box. That might be what they're looking for, (if so, they just suck at wording questions) but they can probably learn more about you by how you answer the question and not what your actual mathematical answer is. ]1/2/2011 2:00:44 PM |

Agreed. For a a lot of these I doubt they care about the exact answer you come up with, but rather they want to see how you go about it. So for a number of these they might be looking for: "if the questions means X then the answer is Y and this is how i did it", etc1/3/2011 9:16:12 AM |

for the horse race, i'd say 5 races, since 5 is the max per race. then you take the three fastest times among the 5 races, and bob's your uncle. 1/3/2011 3:27:14 PM |
