I think the weeaboo line is crossed when you attend an anime convention. If you just watch it just to watch it, that's ok. If you watch it and want it to become part of your culture and want to meet with others who share the same feeling / cosplay, there's your weeaboo.

Never thought it was about time travel because everything happened in the present. There was only one time traveler in the series and they never went back-and-forth in time, only she did. I could be wrong though because it's been several years since I've seen it.
