wow, I was a little surprised when that news story broke last year about some 12 year old killing someone with a .22 round. If the "kid guns" give the worst chance of survival of a headshot, then I'm slightly amused.

^^^ I knew the guy who got shot in front of the bookstore about 10 years ago. He took a .22LR to the head, and was just fine in the end. They left the bullet in him, I think. It didn't go into his brain and rattle around, though.

a .22 is not as deadly as most other stuff, but it's still very dangerous and can kill people, headshot or not.

Statistically, you're more likely to die from a knife attack than a bullet. As it is, 85% of GSW victims survive.

The factors involved in bullet wounds pretty dynamic and unpredictable.


Also, the press is generally pretty vague when reporting this. Gunshot wound to the head could be a Bud Dwyer kind of impact, or it could be a round that catches the skull just right and glances off without penetrating the bone.

i saw that shit too. they had a bunch of people who got stabbed dozens of times in vital areas and survived as well.
