The marine biologist that gave the shark talk at the aquarium said that a shark can detect urine further away than blood, and also, don't lay down on a surfboard or boogie board with your arms and legs hanging off cuz you'll look like a turtle, don't wear sparkly or shiny things, and don't flail about like you are injured.


I was not skurred like Kiwi, though. I just make sure that when I pee she's down current from me.

they can detect urine, but are they attracted to it? that's the more important part.

That's the candiru. It's a tiny, parasitic catfish that lives in the Amazon. It'll swim right up your pee-hole, or your vagina, and lodge itself in there with little spines that make you bleed. Then it drinks your blood. Some say that it is attracted to urine, which helps it track down pee-holes to swim into. Supposedly, you're good as long as you don't swim naked, but I didn't chance it when I was in the Amazon. I stayed the hell out of the river.

^^&^^^FTR I'm not putting baited hooks into my pockets and swimming out a couple hundred yards on a surf board again to drop the weighted lines for you. B/c in hindsight...with all the sharks around that was a pretty stupid idea

But I'll still pee in the ocean without fear of sharks b/c I've got a better chance of winning the lottery than getting bitten.

I have peed in the ocean roughly four hundred million times and have no plans to stop doing so in the future.

Honestly, I have to pee right now, and I have to tell myself that it is not worth the effort to drive from Raleigh to the beach just to pee there.
