my only complaint is that they made you dump out all your water on the way in then charged $5 a bottle. They had the same food as the state fair (minus the crazy stuff) and it was twice as expensive. Also they had latino food. And there was no re-entry into the festival.

Also it got hot sometimes since I usually squeezed into the front where it was packed. In the ASOT tent on Sunday they filled the whole thing with fog and it cooled you off really nicely. Big clouds would roll in from the sides, then you couldn't see anything but colors flashing.

I smelled the whole time, and there were all manner of substances that you would expect to be sneaked in.

There was nowhere inside where you couldn't feel the bass, and it was truly epic at main stage and only slightly less at the Carl Cox/ASOT tent. Musician's earplugs were a must, otherwise it was a bit harsh and way too loud if you got close.

Everyone was chill and pretty cool about people pushing past them to get into the middle/front. The easy way was to wait for some girls to pass and let them blaze a trail.

The police/security presence was also pretty chill. The last day, they checked everyone really strictly for illegal water though so I actually had to buy it on Sunday.

i kind of get the impression that it's an old city with mostly old people who don't care about nightlife and who create noise ordinances that get flashmobs shut down - it also just happens to have a college in it

but it is a city that enjoys bands that play originals, not overblown DJs

Meh, I'd rather go to EDC in Vegas this summer instead.

Ultra is cool, but EDC is way better. The West Coast is just a better scene for House/Trance/Electro in general
