Join the real man's military: The Marines!

In all seriousness, MEPS is on shitty hoop out of many that you have to jump through to join the military. Many of the descriptions listed in here are very accurate. MEPS is kind of lame because the docs have to process hundreds of people per day and it seems like a shit job so they take it out on the people going through it. holyrunonsentencebatman.

it's almost like MEPS is an entrance exam in itself... If you can't stand to sit around and wait on something you have no control over, you probably won't have a great time in the military.

I went to MEPS in Raleigh and it really wasn't that bad. Since I lived in Durham I didn't stay at the hotel. I got there early (so I was in line ahead of the bus from the hotel) and I was done before lunch. Yeah the staff aren't friendly, but who cares? they were professional and got you through there fast.

Also the lady that draws your blood is the only person who's ever found my veins on the first try. Since then it's always an HMSN who digs around with the needle for a while, fails and calls the HM2, who fails and tells me to see the nurse.
