There's big truth to the men and women can't just be platonic friends where the guy has absolutely no interest in the woman. Unless, of course, he's really gay.

It's my opinion that they can revert to being somewhat friends with NO interest in sleeping with each other only if they've already hooked up and came away feeling like "nah, it's just not there, and now we've gone there, I've satisfied that itch" ...and then if the guy goes months without getting laid, he'll start to entertain the thought again.

You're in complete denial if you think that neither has any interest whatsoever, either purely physically or emotionally. I'd be willing to bet a dozen hot Krispy Kremes that, if the chance arose, you'd find out otherwise.

At NCSU, moderately attractive women (which I'm assuming you are) never have to worry about adequate attention or heavy competition...so you have that much less reason to really get pissy. It's a different story with folks elsewhere (and especially in my age group)...the women get PISSY and very catty if the men they like don't pay them attention. Of course, you realize I am from JoCo, and you can understand the socioeconomic ramifications of being from there.

Now, to add to this whole scenario, I'd bet these guys aren't getting the exposure to large numbers of women...which makes you more of a commodity...which gives them even more incentive to be pissy.
