Play Cal today after Cal dismantled Coastal 17-0 yesterday.

Lost to Cal (by what turns out to be a respectable 4-0) and embarrassed the Chants. Good bounceback weekend by the boys. Now we have Wolfdawg's Davidson (5-4) team midweek before playing what could be a good series with Penn State (3-3).

*Wolfdawg will definitely be rooting for us but I wouldn't count on him to heckle too much.

I will have on my Davidson shorts, but my NC State camo jersey. Can't find my Davidson pennant, so it will just be my State flag.

^^^^ Thats ok, because everyone still loves you. But if you let Davidson win that game I will drive back from Kentucky and get you. (If we lose to Davidson I think I'll be to depressed/angry to drive all the way to Raleigh but I'll figure something out)

I agree. Cal baseball along with a group of other sports including their really good rugby teams was on the chopping block due to budget cuts. Rugby and some other sports were able to raise enough to become self sufficient for another couple of seasons, but no one stepped up for Cal baseball. I know they don't have lights at their field, but it's weird to see a consistent winner just be dropped.

Not incredible but we got the 3-2 win. Ogburn was absolutely incredible though. 6 innings 1 earned 11k's in a tough no decision. Pretty sure we couldn't have done it without him. As much as it pains me Ciencin finally got on it with a 3 for 4 with a run and an rbi. Looking forward to the weekend series with Penn State.

Split the double header and move to 5-5 on the season. 2 midweek games at home vs Radford and then 1st ACC series vs Duke at the DBAP.

Given the roster turnover, Im pleased with the way we've played so far. That being said, I wouldnt be happy with a .500 record at the end of the year.

Big Rig comes through with 6 RBIs and the grand slam in the bottom of the 8th to beat Buffalo 7-5. Need to get the bats started early tomorrow vs George Mason.

DY will can this coach next. Watch it. Losing is not acceptable anymore at NCSU.

[Edited on March 15, 2011 at 10:29 PM. Reason : the fact that we lost 2/3 to Duke has already made me lose most interest in the team]

Just got back from the game against northwestern. Fielding looks solid and the hit is absolutly horendous. Still won and that moves the record to 11-10

It took 11 hits to get 4 runs. Until the bottom of the 8th, we could get on base, but then couldn't do anything to get the runners home.

The only reason they scored that inning was due to 2 walks. And a fielders choice.
There was a nice hit into CF. There is only a combined 5 home runs in the starters.

No, I was at women's tennis vs UNC and then softball vs UNCG since it was the SWPC event, but I did have my radio and was listening to the baseball game.

Cory Mazzoni complete game shutout with 10 Ks against Clemson. State wins 6-0.

13-10 (2-5). Turning point or just our stud pitching?

Great performance by Cory tonight. Hopefully we can use the momentum we got tonight to at least win the series. Clemson didn't have a starter listed for game 2 and game 3's starter has a lower ERA than the one tonight, so I don't know if we truly saw Clemson's #1 tonight.

After getting embarrassed by GT, its good to see them take at least 2/3 from Clemson. It'd be big to get a win tomorrow, hopefully the offense is starting to roll a bit more.

Cory Mazzoni was named ACC pitcher of the week.

Quote :
"With a complete-game four-hitter in NC State's 6-0 win over 15th-ranked Clemson last Friday night, Mazzoni threw the first complete-game shutout by a Wolfpack pitcher since Mike Rogers and Vern Sterry both shut out No. 1 Texas in a doubleheader on May 15, 2004, in Austin."

The Pack also won 2 out of 3 against Clemson over the weekend.

Pack beats UNCG 9-1 and continues successful mid-week play. Off tomorrow and then the 2nd home ACC series vs Wake Forest. Game times are 6:30, 6:30, and 1:00.

Gardner Webb's game vs App St was postponed and Gibbons didn't have a midweek game. I guess the coaches know each other and had an exhibition, similar to the Braves playing UGA/GT or the Yankees playing Va Tech.

Pack wins 6-4. Avent was quick to pull Healey after getting down 3-0. Bullpen came through for us and Chris Diaz did well hitting and should get credit for an inside the park home run, not a single with a 3 base error.
