That phone wouldn't happen to embed the latitude/longitude information into each photo it takes, would it? Like an iPhone? Something in the EXIF data or something. If you have the original images, and if the phone does such a thing, perhaps you can pull those coordinates and provide them to the police along with proof that you own the phone.

^ That's actually a really good idea. EXIF data may contain the exact location that the pics were taken.

so let me see if i understand...your friend was playing a party on 2/14...you make this thread the next day and post a pic and number...does that mean you got the phone back the next day?

ie, it was stolen for less than a day, then returned?

No it was stolen at a party on the 15th of January up there while she was playing. Every attempt to call it to get it back - to my understanding - was sent straight to voicemail b/c he was only answering calls from friends numbers. So I guess he wasn't totally an idiot, but it did prove intent to steal it. Apparently he tried claiming 'no harm, no foul' when the cops were asking him about it by saying "well, I didn't go over the minutes or texts and I didn't install or use any apps so I don't see the problem here".

And wow! Walkmanfades you did say something useful and accurate and that was pertinent to the thread...there's hope for you yet < that's exactly how the pic was found.

Anyway, his mistake landed him in jail yesterday - of course this was after his girlfriend he was sending said pics to changed her number and he received about 50 random pizza orders - at least from what I was told.
