I live in Fayetteville and my main compliant is the horrible road system and traffic everywhere. It sucks trying to get north/south or east/west through Fayetteville and Hope Mills. Every road whether it be Skibo, Raeford, Ramsey, Eastern, etc is like Capital Blvd in Raleigh. Just fucking poorly planned and crazy drivers being overly agressive, running lights, etc.

The crime sucks too, but basically you just stay away from the bad areas at night and don't go to the mall after dark. No way in hell I'd live here if I did not have my job that I really like.

Unfairly? This place is a fucking pit, man.

Dogwood festival organizer lady getting a list of gang members from the FPD and sending them notices that they would be arrested for trespassing if seen at a public event. Then later going up to three veterans motorcycle clubs and telling them to shut down their booths and to "get out of Fayetteville." Even though they had been invited to participate with the Harley dealership.

I live in Fayetteville and acknowledge its severe inadequacies. But those are your two examples of it being a "fucking pit?" Pretty weak.

Yeah, I'll agree that those are pretty tame. But still, this place sucks. I think part of it is just having been here for too damn long.

I work in Haymount, so it isn't terrible most of the time, but at night it gets sort of sketch even around here.

I agree, it does suck. You gotta admit it's getting a little better compared to 5-10 years ago though.

Working in Haymount makes it easier which is why I'd also like to move to the area.

It honestly is. Especially in terms of nice things to do. Still, some neighborhoods and areas are pretty bad and the PD is still dealing with being stretched so thin.

I wouldn't mind living in Haymount either, but I don't really know that I want to spend much more time here.

for all the cons with Fayetteville, there is one thing that no other town in NC will ever have, Billions of dollars of exposable income. Fayetteville will always be financially stable. I think the mayor there is trying to change the image and is taking some pretty decent steps toward that. Fayetteville is definitely on the up swing (over the last 20 years)
