like I said haters gonna hate. I think like 10% of people on here believe in Christ and maybe another 10% believe in God. The rest are atheists or agnostics. so not surprised at all the negative comments.

I believe in God. When everything collapses, we grip the last hold, we look from the secure haven how the godless society of the old, holy Europe falls apart. May the game begin.

So are you saying that you don't think this kid was hallucinating or making the story up? That he actually went to heaven for a bit and hung out? Not to question him or anything but why would God slip up like that? Why not let us ALL know without that he is real and heaven exists and whatnot? I'm really sorry I'm picking on you, but I has these nagging questions.

If you're waiting to go to heaven you aren't living your life properly. This is all you got. Sorry. Make use of it.

^^^ b/c God uses each of us in different ways in his divine plan. Plus Christ's second coming has not happened yet and that would be the only time he'd come back to earth. plus this is not the 1st time God has shown us heaven. There have been numerous heaven apparitions.

^^ You are correct if I led a perfect life without sin i'd be in heaven but since I was born with original sin I use my life to gain salvation among other things.

So okay, I'm willing to grant you whatever objects you think exist. Now explain to me what happened here ... the kid's soul was revealed heaven? Was taken to heaven then brought back? Which?

Also, how do you distinguish a vision of heaven from a hallucination? Legit interested in what you think. What if I almost died and had a conflicting vision?

Would you have the same opinion if the kid claimed that he saw Yahweh, Allah, Zeus, Thor, Poseidon, etc., instead of Jesus?

^^^^ maybe i missed it in the video I skipped to the part of when he describes Heaven, but if he was legally dead then he was brought back, if he was alive then heaven was revealed to him. both can happen and have happened.

^^^^^&^^^^ Well since I believe in Christ of course my opinion would be different, HOWEVER I wouldn't poke fun and disrespectful about another person's spiritual beliefs.

ps. wordsonfire with Fr. Barron on Youtube and the web, he is really good at getting you guys answers to questions you have. I unfortunately don't have the full capacity since I don't have a doctrine in Christianity.

really not trolling but GoldenGirl please answer this, why don't you think that anyone (other than dante and that other dude who wrote the one where he loses language when he gets to heaven) has ever been to hell and come back? I would think that experience would be a better method for god to 'scare' people into believing

I'm AstralAdvent and i approved this message.

These are not the only visions of hell. Christ came to St. Faustina and instructed her to write a diary. during this time she was given a "tour guide" of hell.

Quote :
""Today, I was led by an angel to the Chasms of Hell. It is a place of great torture; how awesomely large and extensive it is! The kinds of tortures I saw:
The First Torture that constitutes hell is:
The loss of God.
The Second is:
Perpetual remorse of conscience.
The Third is
That one's condition will never change.
The Fourth is:
The fire that will penetrate the soul without destroying it. A terrible suffering since it is a purely spiritual fire, lit by God's anger.
The Fifth Torture is:
Continual darkness and a terrible suffocating smell, and despite the darkness, the devils and the souls of the damned see each other and all the evil, both of others and their own.
The Sixth Torture is:
The constant company of Satan.
The Seventh Torture is:
Horrible despair, hatred of God, vile words, curses and blasphemies.

These are the Tortures suffered by all the damned together, but that is not the end of the sufferings."

(personally this is what I believe as far as what hell is)

Anyways scaring someone into believing is a horrible way and not God's way. God is love.

Ugh its so hard not to troll you but fear is the main tactic of god in the old testament and its very hard to dispute that, some could argue that it is in the new testament as well and that only jesus really preaches love...

Well the old testament represented the old Covenant. The New Testament came after Christ entered this world, where Christ is the new Covenant.

The purpose of the Old Testament was to teach us and prepare the way for Christ. You also have to take into context of the times and just not literal translation of the Bible.

While we're on the topic of Christianity, I have a question for GoldenGirl.

First off, I'm not trolling, I'm seriously interested. I was raised a Christian, but as I began to learn about other religions, theologies, the history of Christianity etc. I found it impossible to believe that it is the only correct path to God and I definitely no longer believe the Bible is the word of God.

My Question:

In the 1940's we discovered around 50 lost Biblical gospels at Nag Hammadi. Only 5 of these were included in the New Testament. At minimum they were written 70-100 years after the death of Jesus, perhaps much later. During and after the life of Jesus there were numerous Christian sects. Some believed Jesus was a prophet, others that he was god, others that he was the son of God. When Constantine became emperor of Rome he merged Paganism and the most popular form of Christianity at the time into one religion, Roman Catholicism. All earlier christian texts were ordered to be burned and those holding onto traditional christian beliefs were killed or went into hiding. He then held the council of Nicea in 325AD in which a group of men, namely Bishop Ireneaus, decided which gospels would go into the New Testament. Therefore, the New Testament is not the work of God, rather the work of man used to benefit a particular agenda. This is historical fact.

Knowing this why should anyone follow Christianity? Knowing this, why do you follow Christianity?

Near death experience is a well-documented psychological phenomenon. What's more interesting is in cultures without a Judeo-Christian tradition of the afterlife, their visions are quite different. I'm sure this kid believes he physically saw what he did, just as someone from say India also believes they physically saw what they did during a near death experience.

I love the "take it into context" and "not literal translation" lines. it's ok to ignore passages such as "don't wear clothes of wool and linen woven together" and "happy are those that smash children against rocks" but when it comes to jonah survived 3 days in the stomach of a whale or "on the third day he rose from the dead"...no, it really happened!!1 how convenient is it to interpret something in any way you please and use it to judge and kill others?

Can one believer please give me one logical reason why they believe other than my parents took me to church and said this is what you should believe. How the hell can you be an educated person and worship a mythical "being" that there is no proof of?

Now I will go pray to BlackJesus...I dare you to say Jesus ain't black.
