They made so many mistakes on their end. I doubt they will learn anything.

1) Don't answer the door at 3 a.m. unless you know the voice on the other side.
2) If someone does knock on the door at 3 a.m., and you don't answer it, you should be carrying your weapon while you check it out.
3) Arrogant displays of your wealth (with the pizza guy, and I'm sure others), coupled with an attitude, make your house a more likely target than the rich neighbor next door. Being an asshole is bad for your health.

There are plenty more. They are very, very lucky they ran into a guy who wasn't very good at his crime.

Foresight is also 20/20. My wife has been woken by a knock at 3 a.m., while I was absolutely unwakeable. She carried her gun with her, and watched until he stopped knocking and left.

And this was our neighbor. But we barely know him, and his whole family seems shady.

Neither of us got any bruises or in a gun-fight. The best way to win one of those is not to get in one.

Maybe he was locked out, his car died, or he was feeling sick? Too bad. We're not answering, and it was his fault for giving us reason not to trust him. I would feel the same way if it was someone we didn't know at all. The bad strangers put a bad cloud over the good ones, so the good ones get screwed. That's life.

All handguns are made to look pretty to someone. Just because it has a pink grip doesn't mean it's designer. There are plenty of guns out there that are made to look pretty that aren't made for women. Pretty much from the beginning of gun history guns were always given a type of decorative touch. I can't really think of one gun that has no "extra" touch to it to give it a appealing look to it.

I mean hell, even guns with a walnut stock are made to have a great finish. Why do you think gun manufactures make the same model gun with a stainless steel bbl or a blued bbl? I mean hell, have you ever seen the Taurus handguns. Take your pick on what grip you want...

For instance, I am thinking of getting an H&R 410. I can pick between a black hardwood stock or a hardwood walnut stock. I would much rather have the walnut stock because I think it looks better than a black hardwood stock.

They also make thumb hole pistol grip stocks, which I think look horrible, and look like toys, there is no way I would ever want to own that gun.

It doesn't take much for a pizza guy to scope your house. When we had pizza delivered, the guy looked inside while I was paying and said "you guys have a nice vaulted ceiling, nice house!" And I was all wat. Told him we were only renting of course blah blah.

If these people had nice shit in view from the doorway and tried to pay with a hundred bill, then it wasn't so much them flaunting than just having nice shit in view.
