after 2 games, Scott's averaging 11 points, with 7 threes @ 57%. That doesn't include the exhibition game where he went 6/8 from three.

you really really can't talk 3point percentages on 12 shots.

i know, i know. that's why i prefaced it with "after 2 games". but if you include the exhibition, it's 65% on 20 threes.

i'm totally calm. i'm not hyping shit except stating his stats after 2 (or 3 games), which are pretty good from three. what's wrong with that? any rational sports fan realizes it's only been 2 games against sub-par opponents, so it doesn't mean much.

You should have made a funny joke in response to your own comment like "11/21: 1", since he was injured in the first 2 minutes and probably won't be back for a few games. That would be a funny joke. You should have done that.

always take what most of the jackasses on PP with a grain of salt, most of them have no idea what they're talking about. i just think they're like "cool, people can see what i typed"

but i don't have a good feeling about this.

Way too many things go into this kind of injury to even remotely predict how long he could be out. Some times it's only a few days, others it's the better part of a month. All depends on how it's treated and how quickly the person rebounds in general.

According to PI (grain of salt):

Quote :
"...He is getting intense treatment and is not currently ruling out playing this weekend in NYC. (However it'd have to heal quite a bit more for that to happen."

Yeah I find that pretty hard to believe based on how Gott was talking about it.

3rd degree sprains are the worst. had one earlier this year and it took me 3 months to get back to playing pickup ball - and even then it didn't feel anywhere close to 100% (still doesn't)

Gott said he didnt know, and they would play him smartly.

So maybe he bounces back.

it hasn't been confirmed to be a 3rd degree sprain yet, has it? (except by the doctors over on PP)

Although I have never had one of these injuries yet (knock on WOOD), it seems like a lot of players in the NCAA and NBA play through these frequently.

I've had about every sprain, a small fracture, and a torn ligament in my right ankle. It's a bitch and can take months to fully recover. The torn ligament was the worst injury, and a few of the sprains weren't far behind. Of course, all of these are related (sprains = weakened of ankle; eventual break; eventual torn ligament); thus in reality, my ankle may have "healed" but hasn't ever been strong enough. I still turn it about 1/month... and it's only painful for a day or two... I guess I've conditioned my ankle to be able to take some major rotation

my prediction: we try to rush him back too fast and he re-sprains the ankle. Maybe because I've done this like 20 times in my life. Oh it feels good enough to play oh shit there it goes again i guess i wasnt ready.

He needs to wear some custom shoes with lots of ankle support when he comes back

^^that's how I tore a ligament. sprained an ankle and within a month I was in basic training... and about 3 weeks into training... twisted ankle = torn ligament.

I feel like Wood probably is in better shape and has access to better treatment than the cankle'd dudes ITT

Technically, wouldn't your ankle be stronger if it was "cankle'd" up?

Well, I watched the replay of him rolling his ankle and it made me sick to my stomach. I'm surprised he didn't have to pick his foot up off the floor and carry it with him. So, I would be thrilled if he's "day to day", whatever the hell that means.

Maybe he can come in and hit a few threes against Vandy, then take a rest until the Indiana game on 11/30? Or maybe he won't be back until conference play.

He's got a professional set of trainers taking care of his ankle. I seriously doubt they let him back on the floor for anything serious until his ankle is ready to handle the stress.

^ oh okay so you think he's out for the season?

Ankles take a long time to fully recover. In the meantime you will always have setbacks along the way where you resprain it because the ligaments aren't strong enough to stabilize the ankle.

Sheesh sometimes I wonder if anyone on this board played sports.

^^No, what the hell about my post makes you think that?

I said exactly what I think : They'll let him back on the floor when his ankle can handle the stress.

That might be this weekend, it might be in January... Who fuckin knows?

The point is that they aren't going to throw him out there to make his ankle even worse.

no, the point is that whenever they bring him back it will be because he can play, not because the ankle is fully healed.

Ankles take too long to heal, he's going to be forced to tough it out and play at some point before it's completely healed.

Not that it would have saved him, but he does wear those adidas lowtops much like harrow wore last hear. I am sure they have decent support, but they always looked horrible low to me. Not saying it would have changed anything, but I am guessing when you see him again he will be in some high top kicks

the trick to ankles is to fuck them both up a number of times, so that eventually when you roll/sprain them you're like gumby and they go back in place after like 10 minutes

always worked for me.
