because it is more important for me to be doing something that I love

and its not that the prospects are poor - its that you have to work on a freelance and part-time basis for some time and create a corpus of work that distinguishes you from your peers (and in this field there are LOTS of them)

most people in my field do NOT have a Master's degree
in fact, Master's programs in my field are relatively new
we will have to see how valuable it is

I know how valuable it has been TO ME, however
I learned an incredible amount in two short years

Whoa Snewf, don't get all passionate and involved in your life in plan sight of everyone else, they fucking hate it when us low dwellers attempt to say otherwise to their clearly superior opinions.
