^I don't see a big deal about that at all. Lots of places in NYC charge $10 for a bud light...so that sounds about right for Vegas. Heinekens are also $10...so it just seems like they charge $10 across the board for all bottled beers...which also makes sense because they probably don't sell a lot of beers and are just like it, "fuck it, $10 for them all."
The liquor prices actually surprise me the most. Patron is $9/10 in small cities like Wilmington and Charleston...I would think they would charge more than $12 in Vegas. Also maybe a little more for Goose, but I guess $14 makes sense. 5/13/2011 8:53:54 AM

I'm not a champagne guy, so i won't comment on Vueve, but I wouldn't judge quality of alcohol on the size of the bottle given that wine, beer, and liquor are produced in containers much larger than any bottle.

While that is an extraordinarily high tab or whatever, there is a definite cultural difference even on a lower scale.
Do you guys prefer to buy your own beverages? Or do you buy rounds of shots and stuff, like WOO HOO LET'S PARTY!!!
I think it might a regional thing. I'm in category 1. What about y'all? 5/13/2011 11:17:57 AM

Its a lot more fun to switch off ordering rounds for the whole table as opposed to ordering individually so you can nurse your Michelob Ultra 5/13/2011 11:24:49 AM

My brother-in-law got talked into doing bottle service last time he was in Vegas. First night in Vegas and he had already blown his budget
I've only ever paid for mixed drinks at a bar in Vegas, never bottled beer. The one thing about bars in Vegas (at least the bars inside the casinos) is that they don't post the price of their drinks. I ordered two drinks (one for my husband and one for me) last time I was in Vegas (I believe at Red Rock Casino). One Bloody Mary was $22 and one Rum and Coke was $14. So $36 plus tax plus tip.
Luckily I had just won big and we were celebrating. And that was the most delicious Bloody Mary I have ever had. 5/13/2011 11:31:59 AM

Posting a big menu of prices doesn't fit the utopian theme most of these places are trying to convey
I usually just order the drink and assume I'm going to get gouged for it

some of the best times ive had in vegas were walking around with a water bottle full of scotch and just people watching. its never been worth it to actually order a drink from anywhere (except all you can drink bloodies and mimosas at the buffet)
also, from page 1

AHA, I'm not talking about taking turns on buying pitchers or something.
I'm talking about the people who buy, like, ridiculous shots and jager bombs and stuff where you can't really reciprocate cause of the price, and plus, you wouldn't buy a jager bomb at 2 AM in the first place.

I drink my fair share at the tables, but you can get the best martinis and manhattans at the bars/restaurants in Vegas. they're not going to bring you a manhattan with 7 ounces of top shelf liquor in it to a table. 6/20/2011 12:53:19 PM

Also, the prices at these clubs are designed to be prohibitively exclusive. Wouldn't want a bunch of middle class muddying up your classy joint 6/20/2011 2:42:39 PM
