If a tick latches on, you should go see a doctor whether you see a rash or not.

i never actually go to the doctor so we're good. and i'm not scared of ticks. only weird diseases and ailments that no one ever actually has/catches, duh.

I had a bunch crawling on me earlier and found one on me when I took a shower when I got home. Now I'm paranoid that I missed more of them that are latched on somewhere.

I was covered in randomly arranged red sometimes-itchy bumps when I woke up this morning. I know I have one small spot of poison ivy. The rest I am not so sure but I have been super paranoid about missing ticks somewhere. Perhaps I should stop rolling around in the woods every other day ... but that isn't going to happen any time soon.

Ticks on dogs are easy.

1. Apply tweezers.

2. Drop on duct-tape.

3. BURN IT.

found one on my nuts yesterday morning

So far no reddish mark of any kind, and no itching (never had an itch from a tick before)

^^ Quite possible. I was out in a field most of Monday and in a park for a while yesterday and felt pretty itchy when I left. Who knows.

I have 100s of tick bites and not all itch. I had one on my balls that after I pulled off itched for over a year.

This weekend I acutally felt the tick bite in for the first time. I was shooting clays and I had to drop the gun while I was screaming. It hurt so bad.

I was looking up other methods because I don't want to use my tweezers. However, I've read that making a tick release is bad because it vomits into the wound. Ugh, I hate ticks.

ticks from the UP of Michigan are apparently the laziest things ever. 10 hour car ride home and that bum is still just hanging out on my sock? either suck my blood or go home.

after my most recent bite, i awoke to 2 bullseye looking welts, not including, but in close proximity to, the spot where i found the tick

went to the doctor today and he gave me doxycycline (antibiotics)

stained an 8-foot section of my fence after work. found one attached to my arm, and one attached to my back after undressing

They've always itched for me, but who knows.

Picked three off me, one off a friend, and a couple off the dog this weekend -- much lower than I expected.

you are the one saying to see a doctor if it even latches on...no one does that.

NO WORRIES i CDCed and webmded that shit and redness and itchiness can be normal. this one couldn't have been on me more than 24 so i'm feeling pretty good about my odds. though it did bite me twice. bastard.

i think maybe you are just trying to freak me out. right?? RIGHT!!!!???

hahahaha. look what i found from yahoo answers:

Source(s):
email me if u find any difference"

You go to a doctor for a tick bite when you get symptoms, not just because you got a bite.

I got rocky mountain spotted fever around 6 months into my job back in 2007. The symptoms were pretty obvious...all major joints (neck, elbows, shoulders, knees, back, etc.) were very sore, any time I would lean over it felt like all the blood in my body rushed to my head, and I only got slight fever. The worst and most fucked up symptom came about 2 or 3 days in (I was convinced I was just getting something cold-like) was that any time my eyes would move any amount to the left, I would get a dizzy spell. At that point I realized it wasn't your average sickness. $2k thousand bucks in blood tests later (thanks, insurance!), the results of my tests came up "neutral", but I was already given a $5, 2-week scrip for Doxy that cleared up my symptoms in 24 hrs. They took another round of blood samples, and the second round showed positive (according to my doc, "through the roof").

I've taken hundreds of tick bites, but only one got me sick. The average bite (whether a seed tick or a big motherfucker) itches for at least 2 weeks, and the red spot from the bite and subsequent scratching of itches lasts for at least a month if you cave into the scratching. The bite will start to itch usually the moment the tick gets its bite on. It's a persistent itch, and in my experience the bite mark goes away the quickest if you keep your grubby fingers away and resist the urge to scratch.

That said, 2 bites yesterday (5 total crawling on me) and 3 bites today (7 total crawling on me).

^THANK YOU!

yea i read getting an infection from a tick is pretty unlikely, even if they bite. i put anti itch stuff on my bites (have it for poison ivy). so far it is working on the bites!!! not so much with the ivy lol. but hopefully this will keep me from scratching the bites. i'm def really bad about it.

I've had dozens or hundreds of crawlers but only a couple of bites in my whole life.

I'm pretty good at feeling things crawling on my skin. I slap mosquitos that are biting me pretty often also.

I got Lyme and didn't get the bullseye. Just a red raised rash about the size of a nickel.

I seriously can't have fun camping because I am looking for ticks the whole time and just don't enjoy it. Byproduct of a tick ruining my life.
