So did we ever come to a consensus on why they got canned?

I listened to them the last 3 summers on my way to my summer job at like 6:30. They had their moments, but nothing awesome. I feel like most people who listened to the show (at least, judging by those who called in) were mostly just mirror images of Salt - your typical frat guy who never quite left college. Demetri was pretty good, though.

Also, I didn't realize that Don and Mike was nationally syndicated until someone brought it up in this thread. I lived outside DC and used to listen to them growing up (along with Elliot in the morning for any MD people - dude had a fucked up laugh). My favorite game of theirs was when someone would call up when they were in a left turn only lane, wait for the green arrow, and then hold their phone out the window, and they'd get like $10 or something for every honk

these guys fucking blow (I get them in Asheville). their entire show is: bitch and moan about their previous contract, bitch and moan about locales that used to get their show but now they don't, make fun of Taint, make black jokes with the token black guy, make slut jokes at the obligatory "morning radio dumb chick", take a couple calls and bitch at the callers, take a couple more calls then cut the callers off in the middle of their call and berate them for 5 minutes for being dumbasses, then plugs for the iHeartRadio app or whatever their flavor of the week is.

rinse, wash, repeat EVERY MORNING.

I usually listen to John Boy & Billy on 103.5 if I'm not listening to 88.1 in the mornings.

96.1 played Billy Idol one too many times for me. I don't even have it as a preset anymore.

The only thing worse than the junk music played on commercial radio are listening to the people on those stations jabber about bullshit first thing in the morning.

That said, we had this on-site after work gathering several years ago and someone got in touch with Demetri and asked him to show up. He agreed so we all thought he was going to bring some music or do something entertaining. Fatass just showed up, drank half our beer and tried to hit on a few of the women there.
