geeze people calm downi was just pointing out that it sucks that no one bothered to update the BIKE LAWS HANDBOOK to mention that its ILLEGAL to bike while impaired, and in fact it says that bikes aren't considered vehicles for that purpose in that very handbookcalmcalmi don't think the DWI bike law is as much to protect other people as it is to protect the idiots riding drunk on a bike, it seems like there is a serious problem with enforcement of bike laws and general lack of awareness about bicyclists and their rights among drivers... so i say its to each his own, don't be stupid and ride drunk

I asked a VA cop once about bike dui's and he said the sidewalk was fine, just don't be in the road. Though, I'm sure they'll make it work for their case somehow if they wanted to.

i dont have a problem with bikes in the roads in the city or where the speed limit is 30 mph or below and there are tons of traffic lights anywaybut if you are on a major road with few lights thats 35 and up use the sidewalk
