nah here's how you can send invites

https://plus.google.com/circles
click on the drop Create circle link (the drop here to create a new circle)
click on the Add a new person button
type whoever's email.
Add them to a circle
click the Create circle with 1 person button
click on the circle, select the View stream for this circle link
post on that circle's wall and it'll have a checkbox to email participants. even if those people are stuck in capacity exceeded, once they get the email from the circle post, it should let them in

That's not working. People are getting messages apologizing for the service being over capacity.

I haven't quite gotten the difference between "Your Circles" and "Extended Circles"...I'm guessing just circles of your friend's circles...and then the incoming section of "Shit that has been shared outside of your circle"

I think I was able to invite bmel by sorta using qntmfred's method. I made a post to my Friends and Family circles (This is awesome), and hit share. A box opened up saying it would share by email and asked if that is that okay, yes it is...boom goes the dynamite.

i wish Sparks return a little bit more relevant content. that could be a kickass feature. i need to be able to post a link under a spark and as more and more people post stuff to a spark, it provides good content for all the other people in that spark

Neither. Sparks are basically channels for stories relevant to your interests that you can share. It's like...I want to post something. What is out there that I might want to share? I click on Comics or whatever, read some stories, and maybe I choose to share one.

I think the difference between this and other failed Google ventures (Buzz, Wave) is that social networking is very popular and people are very much in the market for an alternative to Facebook. Facebook has done a lot recently to alienate people and its clear just by this thread and even Facebook that people are clamouring for invites
