even though amy winehouse was the LAST person I wanted to see receive so much fame and attention, she wrote a few songs that touched our generation. Many other musicians did drugs, lost control, and in some way did themselves in, Nirvana, The Doors, Janis Joplin, etc. So let's take a positive stance and say Thanks for writing and performing on the world stage for all to see.

She deserve to be in the 27 club. Her music was a breath of fresh air to a decade filled with meaningless pop hits. She also brought back what it meant to have an "album", rather than a CD with 10 shitty songs attached to two singles. She could belt out tunes like nobody else that made it to mainstream radio really, and she had a lot of brutally honest lyrics that every woman of the modern era ought to listen to. It is sad that she is getting so much hate from her hit single "Rehab", because she was a woman with more raw talent than most artist of this era. Her songs were inspiration to many other artist that followed her path.

Don't let her public battle with drugs muddy her image. An artist is worth what he or she can bang out of a stereo and nothing else.
