I didn't mean to sound whiny about it, just stating that something about the system isn't working when a team that finishes higher ends up with an easier schedule.

^And you're right, we weren't the top SOS, but I find it interesting who the bottom 5 were:

Green Bay .457
Houston .453
San Fran .449
New England .449
New Orlans .441

Giants, Broncos, and Lions are the only playoff teams with SOS higher than .500

Going into 2012 based on 2011 records, Giants will have the toughest opponent record (.547) and the highest opponent score differential (+546). Weakest opponent record is New England (.453)

Playing against the worst defense in the NFL, receivers who don't respond well to the bump-and-run, and and having your own defense and running game at they best they have been all year...all against a team who we only lost to on a last-second field goal kick when we suffering from multiple injuries to star players and not playing at our best?

and fuck the refs. Eli was getting hit late all game, sometimes in the head too, but never got a single call. Rogers gets hit on the side of his body a split second after he throws... 15 yard penalty. Oh, and it was a fumble.

They put themselves in situations to win. Those special teams turnovers wouldn't have mattered if the Giants defense hadn't been so strong or if the Giants special teams players didn't stay heads up on those plays.

The first one was certainly a gaff but the overtime turnover was forced. Can't blame it entirely on the carrier.

did you even see the second turnover? that dumbass was running with the ball in both hands extended a foot and a half out in front of his body. A stiff breeze would have knocked it out. those fuckups were so blatant that I questioned if he'd been paid off, except he's not normally the kick return guy.

I didn't say he was blameless, the Giants were trying to strip the ball on almost every tackle and he was a fool not to cover up the ball and get down when he knew he was surrounded. But the Giants should still get some credit for making it happen and getting the recovery.
