I got 19 a month for 2 years. Which i suppose is chancy if you don't like contracts, but if you move more than 30mi away from the gym at any point they will cancel your membership with no fees to you.

and I honestly have no clue about a couples contract. I could inquire tomorrow when i hit the gym if you're interested.

I have Lifestyle.

It's a good place, and even when it appears busy, it's not too bad on the inside. I've never been and had to wait any significant period of time on anything.

Not sure if there is another rapid on Glenwood ave somewhere, but the downtown location is closed, there aren't usually any cars there, and they have done a massive renovation on the building. A PR or Marketing company is moving in. Again, I am only referring to the Glenwood South downtown location.

The location on Glenwood closed. Hatem sold the building to Centerline and terminated their lease.

And by Glenwood I mean the one downtown.

The one on Glenwood near Skate Town is still there. They're putting in a rock climbing wall there.

Gym's are by far one of the biggest scams...

Only $19.99 a month...oooook that's cool

+card fee
+initiation/processing fee (?)
+enrollment fee
+treadmill fee (uhh I don't use one)
+annual fee
+yearly increases
+pay 1 month in advance (but get the last month free)
I had to go to the CEO of the gym company b/c they wouldn't cancel my last membership after 3 tries.

Not cool
That being said - I'm actually on the hunt this week for a gym

if you're near one of the two fitness 19 locations, i would advocate for their deals at the end of the month...$9/mo...once a year(Jan?) they charge $19 for that month and just month to month otherwise...no other fees

pretty basic though but they do have a squat cage

or check out

http://www.nbhealthandfitness.com if you're near lake boone trail...great small gym with fair rates and unique training programs

i'm under the impression you can do whatever the fuck you want at a fitness 19...there are some 14 year olds who do the sketchiest looking exercises, i wonder if either party's insurance would approve

the one off leesville rd has a bunch of former ncsu football players

I'll give you a brief explanation

Lifetime Fitness approached LFF, interested in purchasing it's NC clubs because of how well they were doing (at a "mid-club" level). LFF saw this as an opportunity to unload their Ohio and Indiana facilities, that were not doing well. They made a deal that basically sold Lifetime ALL clubs in Indiana, Ohio, and NC (even though Lifetime didn't want anything but NC locations).

As a result, 9 out of 11 clubs bought by Lifetime up north will be closed....2 converted. The other 2 clubs (that were producing) are being kept and rebranded by our current founder.

All NC Clubs will transition to Lifetime Express clubs by Novemeber 30th....except for the Cary location. Lifetime sees no point in keeping it open since their Regency location is right down the road....so as a result, Cary is closing. The date is not yet been said, but will either be Nov 30th or Dec 15th.

Just to clarify, the one in Crossroads is closing? I'm currently a frozen account there. They're not converting to anything else?

^^so if the one in crossroads is closing...does that mean we'll have access to the Regency Park one? They seemed to be just fine having both in operation. I guess I'm confused what happens to my membership at the LFF that I literally opened and paid all the fees for a week ago...

But it doesn't make sense they'd buy 11 clubs, and instantly shut 9 of them down, and then shut down another in Cary because its ~5 miles from another curernt facility. Lifetime and LFF are completely different demographics

Cary is the only one closing in NC.

LFF memberships will be honored (same price) for 12 months, then slowly increased.

Info will be going out to members tomorrow.

Will our memberships remain month to month like LFF? And what are the rates these days? Will cycle be a different membership level like it is at LFF?

As far as I know, it should remain the same. As far as what services you'll be provided...I would assume that you'll get AT LEAST the same services that your current membership provides. Lifetime is actually doing a noble job with this transition...sad to say it, but I think LFF dropped the ball on this (esp. for those of us at the Cary location)

Again, official info should be out tomorrow.

We can apply for a position at one of the other clubs, but none of them are really that convenient for me.

I got into Rapid before they expanded...I pay 24.99 a month. I can go to any rapid fitness.

It was a 2 year contract and then month-to-month.

+card fee...........NO card fee
+initiation/processing fee (?)...............went during a promotion....free
+enrollment fee.............promotion free
+treadmill fee (uhh I don't use one)...........none
+annual fee..........none
+yearly increases..............paid the same price since it opened

Last 2 years they had a black Friday deal where they sold 100 certificates for only 10 dollars for people that were brand new. Totally would call.

I agree, no other locations are convenient. That is such a nice space, seems like another franchise would move in and have the only Crossroads area gym.

Rapid Fitness signed a lease for 800 N Person St.

It's the old Super Dollar that's two blocks up from Krispy Kreme.

Stupid location choice for "Downtown"

This is that empty space that used to be a dollar store/grocery. Maybe it will work out, but the Warehouse district location was much better than this one. Plus its 400 yards from O2 Fitness now in Seaboard.

Oh yea? That'd be awesome! You know Darren trains there right? Toss me down as a reference if you sign up for MMA stuff? I think I'd get a free private or something.

I wish I had been able to go tonight. It ended up being way too packed. I drove around for 10 minutes and couldn't find a parking space. They must have had a new class going on because its NEVER that busy there.

no, you can do power cleans and light weight snatches. But you'll have to lower then gentley. Space is pretty cramped for too. There are two spots that you can move a barbell around comfortably... To the left and right of the squat racks.

There's nothing like bumper plates, platforms or bars that are for actual oly lifting.

I train there about 4-5days a week.

yea, they fought back in february. Darren had BJJ on the brain and jumped guard

The other guy, of course, got in a few knees to the back and Darren eventually went out. Diehart was also DQ a couple months later against one of our other guys when they fought (I think up in Cherokee) for a knee to the face.

Let me know when you're coming in to do MMA stuff. It'd be cool to finally meet you.

ya dehart is a tricky catch wrestling based guy, he put me out to pasture pretty fast because i reversed mount and he set up a nice triangle as i rolled to guard...he also got chris mcneil with some tricky sneaky submission ankle crank

ive always wanted to train with billick, hell ive wanted to fight him too

yea man im sure ill see ya...btw how did he get DQ's i thought once he fought dehart it was supposed to be a pro fight so why in his next fight is he fighting amateur where knees to the head arent allowed? I know there were some issues with jawbreaker and that final round of the tournament but I was pretty sure that the stipulation was the finalists were to debut as pros and be paid 10k (i know because i was in the tourney but got wrecked in round 1 )

if dehart is trying to run through rapid fitness id love to get another crack at him fa sho

no idea. I know for sure that he was DQ'ed against John. It may hhave been because John was on the ground and Adam was standing? Not sure though.
