Development finished on September-dated shooter 60 days before launch, now headed to certification; Gearbox shifting focus to add-on Mechromancer character class.
Borderlands 2 is finished, some 60 days before its release date. Developer Gearbox Software announced today that development on the project has come to a close, with the first-person shooter now headed to certification for release on the PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 on September 18 in North America and September 21 internationally. It's unlikely Borderlands 2 will miss its release date.
It's unlikely Borderlands 2 will miss its release date.
Now that development on Borderlands 2 has wrapped, Gearbox is shifting its focus to post-launch content for the game. The team is currently working on the Mechromancer character class, which will be released as free DLC about 60-90 days after launch for members of the Borderlands 2 Premiere Club. Gamers can score access to the Premiere Club by preordering the game.
Borderlands 2 is the sequel to 2009's well-received loot-based co-op shooter. A recent game guide writer's playthrough of the title took 58 hours, with Gearbox calling the game a "hobby." For more on the title, check out GameSpot's latest preview. " |

Got this achievement last night in Borderlands "And They'll Tell Two Friends - Gamed with fame". One guy was typing German, and the other two guys were speaking very lowly in what sounded like a foreign language that I could not identity since they were going in and out. 8/1/2012 11:50:03 AM |

I'm like level 27 or something in the original game right now. My main complaint is that I have a hard time comparing weapons and comparing some of the stats within the game quickly. A lot of that info just doesn't seem to be well-defined so it's a lot of unscientific trial-and-error trying to find out what weapons I like better. I've had to do some digging online just to find out what some of the stats do or mean. 8/17/2012 11:55:25 AM |
Byrn Stuff backpacker 19058 Posts user info edit post |
I think it depends partially on your play style. For instance, I played a Siren and preferred SMGs with high crit multipliers and elemental damage. My two favorite guns were an smg with 4x elemental fire and another with 3x elemental shock. 8/17/2012 11:57:50 AM |
MisterGreen All American 4328 Posts user info edit post |
you find new guns so often, don't waste your time puzzling over tiny improvements. use what you like and replace it when you find something that's clearly better.
you can spend soooo much time screwing around with weapons 8/17/2012 12:49:20 PM |
CalledToArms All American 22025 Posts user info edit post |
Yeah, see I like to analyze In games like Diablo or WoW, there were lots of stats but I seemed to always understand them better and like the way they are displayed better so it always seemed fairly easy to me to determine when a weapon was clearly better than something I currently had.
In Borderlands, it took me awhile just to figure out what the flashing numbers meant on the damage and stuff like that. And then even within the same classification of guns, you have dmg and speed (as long as accuracy is relatively similar) but clip size and the way the gun shoots affects too. I guess what I'm saying is that there isn't a real set or scientific way to compare a lot of them. It's a lot of trial and error and just sticking with a couple guns because you "like" them and they seem to work OK for you (read: you're killing things and not dying too often )

It definitely is. I think with a lot of them I tried to take into account the damage x speed to get a feel for the net damage done. I think MisterGreen's right though. It's easier to only concern yourself with significant improvements rather than nitpicking. Although, I'll admit that I'd take two guns I thought were comparable and play a bit with both to see which I liked more. 8/17/2012 1:10:21 PM |

im clearly torn between Zero and Maya.
I absolutely loved the phase walk which is now gone but zero has something similar. but he seems more melee oriented which i could less for but I like having the ability to disappear.
Maya has her thing and she can uses SMG's (my favorite gun) but just is missing that "escape" factor me.
