They still cut his scenes out.

At the tattoo parlor while he was getting the tattoos covered up, the cameraman asked him about Hitler and Jesco said he didn't understand why people hated him or something like that.

The subject matter might be too niche for some folks (like a high-wire walker isn't?), but Hitman Hart: Wrestling with Shadows is a fantastic film. Pro wrestling is not fake, it's scripted...and sometimes it isn't.

10. Grizzly Man (2005) 9. Trouble the Water (2008) 8. An Inconvenient Truth (2006) 7. The Celluloid Closet (1995) 6. The War Room (1993 5. Super Size Me (2004) 4. Waltz with Bashir (2008) 3. Roger and Me (1989) 2. The Thin Blue Line (1988) 1. Hoop Dreams (1994)
could argue with a couple of those, but Hoop Dreams definitely deserves #1 9/2/2011 3:29:27 AM |

I agree that An Inconvenient Truth is one of the most influential documentaries of all time--not in terms of filmmmaking, but in terms of actually influencing the outside world--but it's a fucking PowerPoint. I'm not arguing with its placement on the list, just saying that it's a relatively shitty movie in the middle of a bunch of really great films. 9/2/2011 11:04:45 AM |

Supersize Me did for documentaries what McDonalds did for the food industry.

Man on Wire is my favorite, the film was amazing. Others I've liked recently:
The Revolution Will Not Be Televised Parallel Worlds, Parallel Lives Cocaine Cowboys The Tank Man The Most Dangerous Man in America: Daniel Ellsburg and the Pentagon Papers
I recommend all of these films. 9/25/2011 8:20:49 AM |
