Honestly, spending half my childhood in the Netherlands where my mother is from, being topless or nude is really not a big deal. Hardly worth mentioning in the news. Americans tend to be very uptight and conservative in this regard though.

It's a shame really. It would be much nicer if this was more the norm than an "event".

But maybe it is just an american thing. My wife walks around topless whenever her older brother is visiting, and they are Jamaican. But it always creeps me out

I mean are people really just walking around topless in the netherlands or is it just at the beach/places where people would normally wear a bikini? Hell even a dude walking around shirtless is something you'll take note of in passing if it's not at a beach or something.

Also, I gotta admit that even though it seems like it would be cool to live in a place where women are topless all the time, normalizing something makes it less sexy.

Its funny when you tell people that south beach in Florida has nude beaches and the uninformed people think its the best thing ever... But then again, at least Florida has some hotties. Asheville does not.

I mean its not like you could walk up to naked women and actually attempt to hit on them without seeming look like a perv (unless your naked as well... but that could get awkward some of the time).

They go to work or the store with cloths on

It's a total cultural thing when it comes to family being around. My whole family would go to the nude beaches, grand parents, aunts, uncles, mom and dad, and it never was an issue or uncomfortable. It just wasn't a sexual thing. Nothing dirty or perverted about it. Your body is just part of life. There was no shame or embarrassment.
