My sister worked for our dad during the summer and was a "logistics engineer" she basically unplugged phones and placed them in the appropriate bin.

salesperson? clerk?"

I get annoyed with this one for the simple fact that for retail businesses, its just a simple job of being a sales person, but management always overly hype the title out of it (specially the associates part) so you always run into those yippity faggots who drink love and piss rainbows. It's really funny to see young ambitious mangers who try to put the "sparkle" in their sales force to be "extra cheery" with a pep talk or a "game plan".

Who are we kidding? You aren't associating with anyone with that title, you are the bottom of the food chain. Move along and stop taking those god damn popper pills with a shot of adrenaline. You don't have to be "part of the team" to be knowledgeable about a product and help customers.

^ lol yes that annoys me as well. Just because you jazz up the job title doesn't make it a better job.

[insert something] Evangelist

That has to be one of the worst. I used to work with several of these people. They were Subject Matter Experts (yet another jargon title) for a particular technology who also happened to have good presentation skills.

Also, anything Guru, Virtuoso, Champion, etc.

"flight attendant; air host"

Why does this bother people? If you're younger than 30 you grew up hearing "flight attendant." I only learned there was another word through books and movies.

And "air hostess" has been in use since the early days of flight, it's not a new PC term.

i hate seeing architect (as an architect myself)... if you don't design buildings, you aren't an architect.... it's not allowed per law (license is required), i worked hard for my professional license and i don't care if you design networks, you're not an architect.

in healthcare the job titles aren't really getting watered down as much as the ability to procure and wear a long white coat...which results in patients and families thinking they are talking to "doctors" a lot more than they actually do. honestly i don't see the point of a long white coat even for doctors, it's just silly tradition.

LOL, this is ur title gripe? Hell when i hear architect these days I think software/networking before I think of buildings. Also, the average systems architect salary is like 20k higher than the average structural architect. And I havent seen any company yet that hands out an architect title to just anyone. Most of them have at least a masters and have decades of experience.

it sure does. and so do the ties that never get washed. everyone in healthcare should wear hospital issue scrubs that get cleaned at least daily.

I used to work for a design firm and the architecture group manager would use this same argument. He seemed to forget that the guy at the desk next to him was a Landscape Architect.

Also, even though he griped about the formalities of using "Architect" for job titles, he scrapped all the Intern Architect titles at the company and called everyone either a Project Manager or Project Designer.
