If you're male, don't go to this. Waste of time. Whole bunch of off-size chinos, etc, like was mentioned before. The women could have a field day, though. Judging from the amount of people there tonight, I couldn't possibly imagine how crazy it'd be on the weekends... 10/11/2011 9:44:39 PM

The prices weren't nearly as good as I thought they would be. The dresses are a good deal at $20 but otherwise I felt like I could do just as good or nearly as good shopping clearance in the store. J.crew has some great in store deals especially if you shop during the week.
I put back a midweight jacket bc it was $70, a blazer bc it was $50, and a couple of cashmere blend sweaters bc they were either $40 or $50. Not that im opposed to paying those prices for a jacket/ blazer/ ect but im not going to pay that when I practly have to go dumpster diving sans a mirror and have no recourse if I don't like the item or it doesn't hold up. All and all I doubt I would go back unless I happened to be in the area or wore a size 6. I feel like I saw a ton of stuff in that size

^I felt the same way about a few items. I got skirts and dresses because they were good prices, and pants and regular tops. But I put back any sweaters that weren't cotton, and I put back a blazer because, like you said, $50 isn't a steal.
They WILL drop the prices next week. The last few days or so, they want everything gone, and shoes will go down to $20 or $10 depending on style, and everything else will be cut in almost half. If the blazer I want is still there, I'll likely get it for $30. 10/12/2011 6:55:58 AM

So do they have dressing rooms or are you SOL for trying things on?

No dressing rooms. That's how you can tell people who have done these before. They come in yoga pants or something similar, and tanktops. Try on the clothes right over that. It's not the best, but it gives you an idea. Alternatively, if you go with a group, you can stake out a corner and attempt to try things on there.
It's unusual, but I definitely saw some people stripping down to their underwear to try things on. 10/12/2011 9:58:56 AM

^^I saw shirts and jackets in xs for men. But there's nothing larger than that really, expect for the chinos.
So, big pants and small sized tops. Not much in between.
And I got really excited when I saw an awesome print on a tie, snatched it up, and it was a little boys tie.

i'm down... the other day i bought a little boy's large t-shirt somewhere because they were all out of man's smalls
this is either a testament to how tiny i am or how fat the typical kid is now
probably a little from both sides 10/12/2011 10:14:12 AM

If it was the one in the "discard" area by the line on the way to the checkout, it was probably the same one! I scored lots of things out of the discard piles. That's actually where I picked up most of the things in my size. 10/12/2011 10:18:11 AM

Yes!
And I was thinking..."hmm, this is nice. I guess if I guy 9 things for myself, I might as well pick up something for the husband."

You and I should plan to go there together when they slash the prices! I need a girl's opinion since I'm not about to carry a mirror up in there 10/12/2011 10:24:30 AM

Anybody know the exact day they're slashing prices? This is probably the only way I'd go up there and cut through all the pants. 10/12/2011 10:30:13 AM

No idea on the exact day, and they don't generally advertise that they're cutting prices. It usually begins the Monday of the last week though. So, I'd check back for reports after that day. Sometimes, they'll stagger the price drop depending on how fast things are moving. Cashmere is the last to cut the price on. Shoes and jackets are usually first. 10/12/2011 10:33:02 AM

Update from the sale: Another shipment is coming in tomorrow, and they had a small one Wednesday night. They have already started the price drop, but not on most things. Jewelry is now $1. All shirts, including the collared shirts, are now $10. I think everything else is still the same. 10/14/2011 11:56:57 AM

I was there last night...there was a huge shipment they were starting to process and should be out on the floor today.
I got 2 pairs of cute heels, but didn't go through the clothing. I'm going back on Sunday for that. 10/14/2011 12:01:39 PM
