It was hilariously bad in every aspect of presentation, service, and execution. Will not return."

Sadly I had the same experience the first two times I went.

Do you guys remember a short, snobby, dark-red-haired waitress working when you went?

^^ No.

We encountered no snobbery.

We did encounter a sign out front that said they had fourteen kinds of pie, and a sign inside that said they had sixteen kinds of pie, and one menu on the table that said fifteen and another menu on the table that said twelve.

When we ordered some pie, they said "we're out" to all but three. When we suggested they mark out the pies they were out of, the girl said, "Oh, yeah, that'd probably be a good idea." She didn't do it, of course, and we watched the next three parties encounter the same disappointment we had.

There are more things that are just silly, but when you can't even get a menu right, your business sucks.

Dear Lord they're still pulling that shit? They have some serious issues with figuring out how much food to make for the night. I was pretty pissed the one time we went, at 6pm, and they were already out of most things. They weren't even busy by that point of the night. I can't imagine what they were serving people by 8pm. Water and saltines I guess.

Tribeca Tavern in North Raleigh.

Was pretty much awesome. It was fairly $texas but my burger was the size of my face and everything was incredibly delicious and the food was produced locally. So I ordered my first rare burger in a restaurant.

delicious!

It's not too expensive considering the portions are so gigantic that you can save your leftovers for another complete meal. Will be visiting again.

Dame's Chicken and Waffles in Durham.

If I were in Durham, I'd consider going back. I was expecting something exactly like Beasley's (which I enjoy, but don't really love after my last two trips), but it's really quite different. The mac and cheese was pretty good though.

I thought the waffles were better, but the chicken was worse.

Had a mixed experience there. The food, when we got it, was fine and I probably would've enjoyed the meal if it hadn't taken an hour and change to make it to our table. We were then comped some god awful shot the owner had put together, which left quite a bad taste in my mouth.

Komo Komo in Cary (Kroger shopping center at the intersection of Maynard and High House)

French Korean restaraunt

It just opened in early November. Food was really good. I got the Smoked Pork Bibimbop and the pork had a really good flavor.

Definetly will go back, very close to our catering office.

Geer Street Garden in Durham. Corner of Fletcher and Geer St in Downtown Durham. Near Manbites Dog Theater.

We went there last week on a Sunday to have a late lunch and a few beers. Good beer selection and great atmosphere. It was nice so we sat outside and people-watched. My husband ordered the fried chicken plate and OMG, it was the best fried chicken we'd ever had. It came w/ mashed potatoes and collards. Everything was absolute perfection on the plate. My husband being a catering chef is usually critical about food. He'll never say that something was "perfect" but he did about their fried chicken. He is still raving about it (a week and a half later)

So after receiving extremely awful service at Champa (sat there for 30 minutes without even drinks), and walking to Aztria or whatever that Indian place is called to find out they don't do lunch on Saturdays, we ended up going to the new restaurant that's inside the old Uno's. It's called Hayashi-ya and it's some Japanese place that opened last month. Two of us got the bentos, which were excellent, my mom got the tempura udon soup, which she said was great, and my dad got their sushi lunch and said it was very good. The sushi lunch was two rolls of your choice for $9.99 which I thought was pretty reasonable. The bentos were kind of expensive for the amount of food you got. Don't remember how much the soup was. Anyway, it was really tasty and I'm sure I'll be back, especially since they have a Monday-Thursday happy hour where you get 20% off your food.
