Well, no, not really. Unions directly support more workplace rights, better pay and benefits for workers, regulations for safety and overtime, etc. They directly support liberal goals. Sure, liberals ALSO like that they spend money on liberal politicians, but to pretend unions and liberals don't have mostly the same goals is just silly.
