^those have to be my favorite of that style meme
But regarding the OP, I've often wondered the same. I have worked with people of all races and in general most people are lazy and useless employees. But I have occasionally noticed situations where, if anyone, it was the black employees that excelled at being terrible at their jobs. After some thought, it occurs to me that this is less a function of any cultural disposition as it is of the hiring process itself. White managers can recognize and reject a potentially-worthless white applicant easily and without losing sleep over it. Whether by virtue of culture gap or fear of reprisal, they may be less apt to ignore a black applicant exhibiting the same traits. Vis-a-vis, they take black applicants on a first-come, first-serve basis and end up with some bad apples 10/28/2011 4:04:55 AM

"I'm not racist but...."
that pretty much promises that the rest of that sentence is going to be racist. 10/28/2011 8:43:04 AM

I also think a lot of it comes down to socioeconomic background and upbringing rather than race. If you grew up in a poor neighborhood where people didn't give a shit about work ethic, you're probably not going to give a shit either. If you grew up in a poor neighborhood where you were expected to bust ass to carry your weight around the house, you'll probably care more. If you grew up in a middle class home, chances are you learned that you have to show up for work if you expect a paycheck at the end of the week. 10/28/2011 8:55:56 AM

I have 11 directs of varying races.
The best one on my team is white The second best (a very close second) is hispanic the worst one is white (after letting the 'other' worst go, who was indian) The second worst one is chinese I have one black guy on my team and he's probably 3rd or 4th best.
Once you have even a modicum of even playing field of socioeconomic background (in my case, everyone has at least a bachelors degree), race doesn't mean shit.
