I'm still tethering on Sprint with the native tethering function built into my Galaxy S2. I did have to install a driver to support IP over USB on my laptop and I installed the Galaxy S2 driver as well. No additional software was needed; simply go into the phone settings and turn on tethering when I want to use it. 2/29/2012 12:17:45 PM

Doubt anyone but the higher ups know when they'll require a change to tiered and even they probably don't know yet. And it'll leak on the internet before most of their employees know anyways. 2/29/2012 12:32:03 PM

They are going to use every tactic possible to get people to voluntarily switch before forcing.
If they make an adverse change to your service it could result in an opportunity to cancel service with no ETF.
Plus most people on unlimited do not even use 2gb...they will probably single out the heavy users to kick off unlimited when that time comes. 2/29/2012 12:42:40 PM

wonder how long it'll take verizon now
Quote : | "If you've got a grandfathered unlimited data plan through AT&T, you're about to be throttled once you hit a 3GB ceiling per AT&T's new official policy. Users who consume 3GB of data with a 3G device, or 5GB of data with a LTE device will be throttled back to Edge speeds until the new billing cycle begins. Because of recent consumer complaints AT&T was forced to draft an official policy here, and now we know exactly what will happen if we're part of the 5-percent of users who use more than AT&T feels is a fair share." |

unless i'm traveling (at which point i turn my phone into a 4G wireless router), i rarely use more than 1GB per month because i have wifi at home and at work...and i don't play with my phone that often
doesn't change the fact that i want to keep my $23/month unlimited 4G data 3/1/2012 4:44:57 PM

my friend (a non-techie) is looking to upgrade her dumbphone to a smartphone...she's looking at the bionic because it's only $100...are there any others (besides the iphone 4) that she could get for $100 that would be better? 3/2/2012 2:29:36 PM

I carry the BIONIC and I have been nothing but satisfied. The iphone 4 is $100, not the iPhone4S fyi....could make all the difference in her decision, not to mention BIONIC is 4G network and all iPhones are 3G only .... 3/2/2012 3:12:06 PM

I just switched to Verizon from US Cellular two weeks ago and got a Razr (it was BOGO--and the battery life drawback has not been enough of an issue for me to regret not getting a Razr MAXX). I love it, but it's my first smartphone so I'm still kind of "learning" I guess. 3/2/2012 3:37:44 PM

What phone do they have now? I personally don't sign a new contract unless I'm getting a phone with an extremely deep discount. I would rather spend 150 bucks on ebay for an older generation device than to not have upgrade available when an exclusive $800 MSRP device is subsidized at $199. *shrug* 3/2/2012 8:46:40 PM

nationwide, verizon is inarguably the best carrier in terms of cell/data service...add a reasonably-priced legacy alltel plan and it's phenomenal
but this is some shit...especially:
Quote : | "Verizon says it will start charging the fee on April 22, and it will help fund customer support and online educational tools." |
my customer support has been fine thus far...and educational tools for WHO? bullshit excuse
though apparently AT&T already charges an upgrade fee (and it's $36)? i did not know that 4/13/2012 6:55:34 AM
