Rockford!

The ABC sandwich is epic! and the ambiance is just right. It's a cool spot, and the price is perfect!

Though I always recommend sushi for first dates as well. If she likes sushi, then consider any good sushi spot. It sits well on your stomach when you're nervous.

There are better sushi places in Raleigh besides Sono but they're father out into the burbs. Sono is good but I wouldn't consider it the best. For downtown, yes. In Raleigh, it's like a 8 out of 10.

But im a sushi snob. I've been eating sushi for 14 years.

i only started eating sushi a few years ago, and i don't eat it that often. what else do you like? i've been to carolina sushi & roll near where i live on falls and thought that was pretty good. i've also been to mura, but it's the same as sono.

Between Sono and Mura, I would pick Sono.

I love Hayashi. It's up Falls in the Wakefield shopping center out near where they built the new bridge. There's a Kerr Drug over there. Next to Wakefield Tavern. The prices at Hayashi are reasonable and the fish selection is great. Plus, the sushi chefs are really good about working around my food allergy (I can't have shrimp). They will still make my favorite rolls and substitute it out for something else

Sono is so so in my book. But when I go out for sushi I just like to get sashimi and there's few places I would bother doing that.

I recently discovered Kashin in Crossroads. I had always seen the place but just assumed it was a shitty wannabe Japanese place like Sakura Express. Turns out it's run by real live Japanese people and they make good sashimi. From what I've heard you have to make sure to go on a Friday or Saturday, otherwise their fish can be hit or miss in availability.
