Maybe I'm misreading, but that last post was worded as if your wife carries your son because she gets heckled. Why would your wife carry your handicapped son?

The heckling and carrying are independent of each other. I image it's sometimes easier to carry than pull out the wheelchair.

My son is only 3, not a grown adult. Sometimes if she is running into a store to pick up something, or they have carts he can sit in, she will just carry him into the store instead of getting out his wheelchair.
