Signed Kemba
Quote : | "CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Kemba Walker, the ninth pick in this year's NBA draft, has signed with the Charlotte Bobcats and will practice with the team today.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
An early entry candidate, the 6-foot-1 Walker led Connecticut to the 2011 NCAA championship and was named the Final Four's most outstanding player. He was a consensus first-team All-American and first-team All-Big East selection.
Walker is expected to begin the season as the team's backup point guard.
Last season, Walker averaged 23.5 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.5 assists in 37.6 minutes for the Huskies and was one of only two players in the nation to average 20 points, five rebounds and four assists." |

Hard to believe that Sully would drop that far
Also, Anthony Davis is way too high. He's basically Brandon Wright all over again. 12/13/2011 12:10:35 PM |

Sullinger is gonna drop even further. chunky power forwards with no athleticism aren't something most NBA teams drool after. unless you can shoot and rebound like Kevin Love, of course.
and Ant Davis is gonna be the first pick in the draft. he's light years beyond Brandan Wright. Davis went from a 6'2 guard to a 6'10 forward/center in a year and didn't lose any of his agility or ball handling skills. as an 18 year old freshman, he protects the rim and rebounds nearly as good as anyone in college basketball. he's gonna be an NBA defensive player of the year. Wright will be lucky if he's ever the 8th man on a decent team. 12/13/2011 1:20:52 PM |

We must not be talking about the same Sullinger. The guy I'm talking about dropped weight over the summer and looks great now, has a plethora of moves, and is as athletic as anybody he'll face all year.

You must be a Kentucky fan. He's played 10 games and you want to give him the first overall pick and an NBADPOY. Talk about exaggeration...

but not as athletic as anyone he'll have to face in the NBA. don't get me wrong, Sullinger is a great college player and will have a solid NBA career, but he's not going to be a perennial all-star or franchise changer.

last year in an airport, i saw Tony Delk, approached him and said, "excuse me Mr. Delk, i just wanted to thank you for contributing to some of the happiest moments of my childhood." so yeah, i'm a huge Kentucky fan. but it's not my bias that projects him as the first overall pick, it's most draft "experts" that do. the DPOY prediction is all my own, though.12/13/2011 3:20:59 PM |

i don't know what Bleacher report is, and i don't go to Kentucky fan sites. i hate "fans" for the most part.
check out ESPN. Chad Ford has projected Anthony Davis as the 1st pick since before the college basketball season began.

one can never be certain with 18 year olds, so your reservations make sense.
despite having the same measurements, Wright and Davis are distinctly different players. Davis can handle the ball (again, he spent most of his life as a PG) and has the potential to develop a consistent outside shot. but its the defense where he really stands out. he's a human pogo stick and has the quickness and agility to match-up with guys much smaller. i've read that some pro scouts project he'll be able to guard the 3, 4, or 5 in the NBA. also, unlike Wright, Davis has an excellent motor. he's always running, always playing hard.

I just scanned this thread and I'm not sure I see where the Brandan Wright comparison is coming from. Why compare a guy who was a back-end lottery pick who has done next to nothing in the league to a guy you think deserves to go #1 overall (and I agree, it'll be him or Andre Drummond if he shows any modicum of improvement, which he will)?

bobcats have silently put together a pretty competitive roster minus the center position. What unreal value to get Williams for 2 yrs $5 million, he's worth twice that easy.
DJ/Gerald are both average, Reggie is a bit above average, Maggette a bit below.... Tyrus and Brown are above average and Diaw a bit below ... Just a big glaring hole at center.
This team is potentially a great over bet if they set the line too low just because we don't have any big names. They probably won't go .500 but they look like a ~20 win team if they can sign anyone halfway competent at center. If they spent the money to get a Dalembert type center they'd likely make the playoffs. 12/14/2011 10:37:14 PM |

shit wasnt even thinking about those guys. If we get anything out of biyombo or kemba this year I'd be surprised though. I think kemba will be pretty much a zero this season and biyombo (if he plays) will be a negative.
So they could certainly push us below 20 wins if they play a lot... 12/14/2011 10:44:36 PM |

9 ppg in 20 minutes game isn't too shabby. Especially considering the Bobcat's leading returning scorer is Augustin who averaged 14 pts in 35 minutes, and Maggette was averaging 12 pts in 20 minutes himself.12/15/2011 6:22:34 AM |
