He doesn't need to register for a copyright. It is obviously on a medium and able to be copied and it is documented with dates of upload so it is legally his material. Obtaining a registration isn't necessary but of course could help in the event that someone did steal the material

I don't do it for the money, I do it for the love, and I do it because writing a song for me is ridiculously, ridiculously easy. I genuinely feel bad for people in cover bands and wedding bands that have to play such monotonous, redundant crap on a nightly basis, and the people that enjoy it.
Music hit a speed bump when the internet gave it wings to expand it's purview but soon enough SOPA and others will have their way with the entertainment industry and make fresh new music a scarce commodity, performers of which will be in higher demand and smaller numbers, what with all cover bands being dubbed as criminals the moment they step on stage.
