Kidney stones are a solid nine. Only because I assume being set on fire is worse.

up to a 6 or 7 today... (localized in my knee)... i hurt my knee (somehow) walking around after surgery... when i was in the hospital i did a lot of walking in socks and flip flops... maybe not used to that?

I can feel a lot of fluid accumulation on the outer portion of the joint... anyone had this happen before? it is significantly worse today than it was yesterday when it first started.

I think anything that causes you to pass out from pain can be counted as a 10. When I have appendicitis and was crawling around on the ground puking up bile, blacking out, and shivering severely from abdominal pain, I would have classified it as a 10 if I had been able to talk at the time.

^ agreed

I would classify my burn as a 9 - the only reason it didn't get a 10 is because I didn't pass out... But I sure as hell as blacked out for a while

Right now I'm at a 4 or so. My joints are so stiff and hurt

I think I'm at a 7/8 right now because of the location of the pain (underside of foot), but not the actual pain. The pain is about a 3/4, but it hurts every time I put my foot down...so it SUCKS.

I'm worried its plantar fascitis...something both my dad and sister have. It's coming from my the arch.

I'm hoping some rest will cure it. I ran a lot this past week and I was on my feet a lot more than usual. Don't want to cut down on the exercising during the holidays, but it might be necessary.

I'm starting to get pain in my heels and back of knee. I think fluid is beginning to settle. I begged my significant other to take me on a walk today.tomorrow is the big trip of getting the drain out.
I think a 10 is crying in pain and passing out. Kidney stones are worse then gall to me. I asked the nurse if childbirth was worse, she just laughed at me said yes and proceeded to tell me how she got knocked up as a teen and her mom made her give birth without pain meds

Childbirth is not worse than kidney stones. I've heard several women say they'd rather give birth than have kidney stones.

With kidney stones, I suffered for ten days and was in so much pain that I vomited. Child birth isn't nearly as long. When I was pregnant the first time, I'd just gotten over a bought of kidney stones and when I told the OB, she was like "Then childbirth will be easy."

yeah i've heard kidney stones can be some of the worst pain ever... not that i've ever experienced them or childbirth, but i've heard stones can be worse.

9. The first thing I did this morning was cry while eating ice cream. This strep is probably the second worse case I've ever had, I sure hope these antibiotics start working soon

anyone ever had gallstones/gallbladder infection?
I've had on and off pain in my upper abdomen and back, it's fluctuating from like a 5 to a 7 I guess? Just a steady cramping like pain that makes me want to hunch over.
It will wake me up in the middle of the night, nauseated, hurts so bad I get chills. I've been up last night since about 3AM
I just looked up some symptoms and that's what it came back with
I just had my appendix out a few years ago so I know it's not that.
This sucks

8....The top of my left shoulder (i guess the end of the collar bone? whatever knob/bump that you can feel before you get to your arm) hurts so bad. I think I must irritate them the most doing the flys machine at the gym.

If my wife were on TWW she would love this thread.

she's currently doing an acute pain rotation, and her patients are fucking stupid.

seeing people overestimate their pain scale is kinda funny.

people dont understand what a 9 or 10 is, until they really understand what a 9 or 10 is.

she called one of them out yesterday on their 10/10 pain, and they insisted it was 10/10 pain.

then the guy pulled his epidural tube out of the pump out of being a dickfor

and found out how bad the pain could be.

of course he then called it a 13/10 pain level.

moron.

She's a better person than I. I'd have let him writhe.

Its all relative. For most of us that have led a relatively sheltered life, stubbing your toe is a legit 7.

It's all based on what you've experienced so how could they?

^^So basically this.

A kidney stone they had to go up in with a claw grabber to remove was my 10/10. Urinated pure blood after I woke up from that one.

Currently a 2...a little discomfort worth this congestion/cold. Although I wouldn't even call out pain...just inconvenient and annoying.

I base the 1-10 scale on the worst pain I have ever felt, which was actually a really bad case of strep. It was the only time I cried in a doctors office. Also, I feel I can handle some types of pain better than other types. I'd rather have a thousand anchors put in my shoulder, than shake in pain everytime I swallow. Also, I have an earache which is a pain I absolutely hate. I guess its because I had awful ear infections as a child. Pain is so weird.

Mine have been at about a 7 or an 8...probably because its a combo of throat pain, adenoid pain, and ear pain due to super inflamed tonsils

But I have really bad tonsillitis which is why I'm having my tonsils removed next month

I've been at like a 3 since Saturday. I ate collards, and only collards, and a lot of collards, for lunch for four days in a row last week, and I'm fairly sure I've got a big wad of collards stuck in my gut somewhere. Can't breathe deep or stand up without it hurting. Monday I went to bed at like 8 with a fever.
