shane faggorino blowing a kiss to the pitcher. Youre not even at .500 yet and your team is at the bottom of the East fag. great job!

it's so cold in the basement

also, wtf Hamels? who admits to beaning a teenage kid to "welcome him to the league" should have kept his damn mouth shut although the suspension basically has no effect whatsoever on the rotation.

Polanco's 2000th hit was a home run! Blanton looked really good for seven innings also.

The bullpen goes to shit every game. Their 7th and 8th innings are a nightmare. They need starters to go 8 innings every game.

no I'm in Raleigh. they showed the Orioles game instead. I found a stream though after tons of searching. thanks communists (Russia)

the game today isn't looking like a winner. Lee has been giving out hits back to back.

nice sweep against the cards. was fortunate enough to watch all three

only three games behind from first, and Utley and Howard are slated to return mid-June iirc

big game for Whittington.

Hammels takes a record (first eight game winner).

We tie with Miami.

Good day for the Phils.

Ruiz and Halladay going to be out for a while. Rollins and Polanco are playing hurt, too. Still have hope though, we'll come around in July.

been rough for the Phils lately. came really close but just couldn't pull it out against the doyers.

Hamels will be fun to watch today, hopefully we prevent a sweep, and I can watch a bit at work

Thank God the Phillies run is looking like it is finally over with. Back to the cellar where you belong. Wonder what they'll get for Hamels, Victorio, and Pierre. No one wants Utley or Howard's contracts and Lee and Hallady are finally starting to show some age. Papelbon should be trade bait as well if they have any sense.

I guess it is not inconceivable that this team could go on a run in the 2nd half with that SP core, but man they went from a 100 win team to a potentially 100 loss team in a flash.

yeah not looking good for the Phils this year or for at least a few to come. Hopefully Utley and Howard may bring some spirit/leadership back to this team.

at least ruben amaro may soon be exposed for being a complete hack. too bad he'll be orchestrating all potential trades the phillies might make in the mean time

taking a vacation this week. going to DC for two nights, gonna catch a game vs the Nationals and then going to Philly for two nights, catching at least one game vs the Diamondbacks. We'll see how sick my gf gets of baseball.

Hope the Phils can beat up on the Nats. Can't believe I actually will root for the Phillies.

As for Amaro, I am shocked that he actually re-signed Hamels. What good is having an ace on what will be an otherwise shitty team in the next few years. I guess if the Phils are ready to blow the luxury tax out of the water, then maybe they can piece together a good team around that ace core of SP, but good Lord when you are in a hole, you've got to stop digging.

^^ have you not been paying attention to anything amaro has done over the last few years? you shouldn't have been surprised at all. the guy's an idiot. they won a world series, and flags fly forever and all that, but he's been doing some real stupid stuff for a long time.

^ yes I have been paying attention, but I did not think he was dumb enough to resign Hamels. You have to wonder if what he's done will be considered worth it in the future. 5 straight NL East titles, 1 WS championship. Many teams would love that even if it meant 5 years of straight dogshit afterwards.

haha, i just don't see how you don't think he could be dumb enough after howard, halladay, lee, papelbon and the way he's handled dom brown over the last year or two. even though everyone can see the bottom rapidly approaching, amaro is just stupid enough to sign a guy like hamels to that kind of contract so they can hang on to their "ace" or "face of the franchise" or whatever. a reasonable person would've just let him go to the yankees or the angels or the rangers or whomever. amaro has proved time and time again that he is not a reasonable person.

but at the same time, he certainly put that team in a position to win 1 or 2 more world series after the one in 2008. he can't help it if guys he signed get hurt or if the offense doesn't perform well enough in small sample sizes in the post season or if the pitchers he paid a lot for have some bad outtings at that time.

i happen to think that he's done an extremely poor job of allocating the phillies' resources long term, which is how i think a GM should be evaluated. but they went to two world series, won in 08, and i think everyone figured at the beginning of the 2011 season that we'd see them there again. one thing i hate about it is the sense of entitlement that's developed for phillies fans like it did in boston and new york, especially since the phillies had a playoff drought as long as the orioles' current one before they got on their streak. hopefully they'll go through another one soon here. for some fans who remember the 80s and 90s and early 2000s, maybe that one championship in 08 was worth it. younger fans may disagree

Fuck this season. Everyone on the roster should've been trade bait.

I ready to see Charlie Manuel out the door. He was never a good manager. I'm ready to give Ryan Sandberg a shot.

I'm getting hyped for Eagles preseason.

that was hilarious earlier this season when the phillies lost 2 games in a series against the pirates because charlie manuel refused to use jonathon papelbon (who ruben amaro had just spent a shitload of money on) in late innings because they were tied and not save situations.

"it's the end of the game. it's tied. the other teams has runners on base. i better not use my best pitcher in this situation because he won't get a save."

Thanks for the win last night. Glad that Spaz got traded to a team that he fits in well with. Melky and Pence make for an easy combo to hate.

got to see the Phils get shut out 3-0 with Hamels pitching at the Nats, and then saw us shut out the D-backs 3-0 with Halladay pitching at CBP. The new Xfinity Live place was awesome.

The gf and I had a blast in Philly and actually extended our stay another night as a result.

The Phils seem to have a little momentum going but it's too little too late at this point. I'm not jumping ship on Charlie yet, and I'm glad we signed Hamels again. I was sorry to see Pence go but it was a good move, as was letting Victorino go as well.

After all the bullshit that happened this season, they are only 3 games out of a wild card spot with 19 left to play. All they had to do was trade a pop-up machine and a .100 hit with RISP player.

(The only time his double ear flap helmet came in handy.)

Also, one of my degenerate gambling friends put a $200 bet on the Phillies to win the world series when they were 250/1 odds on an intoxicated whim back in August. They are 30/1 now.
