I saw Magnolia around when it first came out. I was one of a handful of people scattered throughout a packed theater who burst out laughing during the frog storm at the end. The absurdity of all the multiple storylines building up to that ending.

All the casual moviegoers comprising the rest of the audience just came out shaking their heads and saying it was an awful movie.

Who are they clapping/cheering for?

It's not a play, the people on the screen aren't really there folks...

All detractors of this concept have never yelled or spoken out loud at a TV show / televised sporting event / inanimate object / video game / etc. ?
