Wing Commander was pretty bad, how did I forget that one. Prince of Persia was decent I guess, but I never really played the game.
I think the problem is that they always go for a mass appeal instead of a targeted audience. Like Doom for example (or GI Joe too), the people nostalgic about those games or comics are in their late 20s and up. So a more gritty violent movie would have been sweet, but instead its just cheesy camp for tweens.
That being said, I think the Wolfenstein games could make a cool movie IF, and thats a big fucking IF, it was done properly. The story line of RTCW could be a cool movie, with the WWII realism elements mixed with the sci-fi and horror elements, but it would need to be done right...ie gritty, violent, scary, and rated R. They could throw in a little nostalgic camp for fun, but if they gear it towards middle school kids it would be retarded. 1/23/2012 4:14:57 PM |

Bioshock with Ben Foster could be good, dude has creepy down pat
Have Donkeylips or Lori Beth Denberg play the Big Daddy's, and Jude Law to play the main boss

Yes... that's why we get him to look the part and someone else act for him. lol
Quote : | "Command & Conquer Red Alert would be awesome but it would be hard for it not to end up over the top and cheesy." |
And that's why it would be awesome, tv movie awesomeness. Like all of Jean-Claude Van Damme even though its the same movie with Van Damme's name replaced and re-edited.

I would call it like "Volt 101" or "Sarsaparilla Star" or "OMFG, THAT'S A DEATHCLAW! RUN!" lol1/23/2012 9:48:05 PM |

So I'm gonna go out on a crazy limb here and say Twisted Metal.
I think that game has always been so dark that it would make for a perfect movie that rarely has daylight. 1/24/2012 1:50:42 AM |

I think Final Fantasy VI would make for an awesome movie.
I don't think it would work without having the story split into 2 movies or possible a trilogy....but the characters are there and the twist where the world ends would be pretty neat. 1/24/2012 6:32:22 AM |

I don't think Zelda would ever work as a movie, much like the Mario Brothers didn't.
I'm actually surprised with all of the vampire love the last few years that a company didn't try and get a Castlevania movie made. 1/24/2012 7:50:05 AM |

After playing Deadspace I think it would make a great horror movie. It would be Event Horizon 2.0 but Event Horizon scared the shit out of me and I would like to see a pseudo remake. 1/29/2012 12:59:19 PM |
Wraith All American 27257 Posts user info edit post |
^I only think people would perceive it as Event Horizon 2.0 due to the derelict-ship-in-deep-space-turns-horrorific aspect. Alien was kinda like that but Event Horizon was different enough from it where people didn't relate them too much. If done properly Dead Space could be made way different from Event Horizon... I think Event Horizon was more a creepy/build up of suspense whereas Dead Space has more of an urgent "MUST ESCAPE NOW" feeling. Plus the whole concept of "Planet Cracking" and the scenes they could do with zero g's/complete silence except for heartbeats would be pretty cool. 1/29/2012 1:18:50 PM |
