"cord" is right. just a unit of volume, used about as often as "slug" is for mass


with regards to a nuclear reactor startup: in a CR(t0)/CR(t1) vs. rod withdrawal plot, for a conservative approach to criticality are you looking for a concave-up, concave-down, or linearly-decreasing curve?

[Edited on February 4, 2012 at 2:23 PM. Reason : where CR = fission chamber count rate and "rod withdawal" refers to height of control rods ]
