Thanks for the reminder TDub... I started my taxes back in February, but when I realized I was going to have to pay I put it aside. Got them filed and paid the gov't back $616.

Unless you have a CPA or really know how to finagle the numbers with deductions, why would anyone be excited over a large refund? You are essentially giving the government an interest free loan. Why not make the money work for you instead throughout the year?

Had a good year but i need to adjust my withholding. Had to cut a check for $2500.00. The sucky part is I know none of it will be spent wisely.

~$800 back from Fed
~$200 back from State

IRS bill still pending for $10,000 for a supposed 2010 mistake, but will probably end up paying $200.

I just got my Federal Tax Return "Returned"! I was trying to get a jump on doing my taxes this year, but the IRS sent my Tax Return back!! I guess it was because of my response to the line, which said: "List All Dependents"... I replied 12 million illegal immigrants , 3 million crack heads , 42 million unemployable people on food stamps , 2 million people in over 243 prisons, and 535 fools in the U.S. House and Senate .
Apparently , this was NOT acceptable. So I sent it back with a question …
"Did I forget someone?"
