$6300. Having a roommate isn't too bad sometimes. Rent in Cary isn't that bad. I'm still probably going to buy something this year or next though. Then I'll be able to charge the roommate rent and build equity. 3/6/2012 5:02:26 PM

Goddamn, how? $461 a month for rent (I assume)? I don't remember shit being that cheap in Raleigh (assuming you're in raleigh), but I guess I'm wrong. Man, I would murder someone to only have to pay $461/mo 3/6/2012 6:26:17 PM

I'm no longer in Raleighwood. I live in Greensboro now and have a 1 bedroom place for that much. I think it was $446 the first year.
It's nothing special, but it's not in a bad complex and suits one person (and a cat) fairly well. The only utils I pay are cable and power.

FML. I forget sometimes what a hyperinflated area in terms of COL really means. My 1 bedroom is like $1400/mo 3/6/2012 7:08:49 PM

It's probably bigger than mine, but probably not 3x bigger.
FWIW I pay $120 per month in power during peak winter/summer, so it has it's drawbacks too.

eh... maybe. It's not really that big though. You're actually hard pressed to find a BIG apartment in DC...It's more about location than size. 3/6/2012 7:11:40 PM

I just checked and I have 540 sq. ft. here. I imagine some apartments have a bedroom that size, but you get what you pay for.

This is not natural and it's killing America. A home that is 20 years old should not be worth more than the house when it was brand new. Can you imagine buying a 20 year old car for a higher price than when it was brand new?
