I like both fried chicken and watermelon. I would presume that I don't love them because I'm white.

But cornbread just isn't very good. Maybe I just never had the good kind, but in my experience it's too dense with a taste somewhere between underwhelming and bad.

Malt liquor has a higher alcohol content than beer (back before the law was lifted here) for cheap. It also tastes like ass. But if you want to get plastered quick for cheap it'll do the trick.

As for Japanese porn, whatever you imagine walking into a porn store over there is like, it's true. Who actually buys the stuff I haven't met anyone that admits to it.

Malt liquor is just beer with high alcohol content. It is often used as a legal term to define beer with high alcohol as something different than just beer (with lower alcohol). Some brewers use the phrase malt liquor to indicate high alcohol for advertising/sales reasons, when the law doesn't specify.

Not all high alcohol beers are called malt liquor though. It is defined by law and/or the brewer. Malt liquor typically carries a negative denotation, thus most craft brewers don't label their beers as malt liquors.

Some adult minorities, wanting a quick and cheap buzz, aim for malt liquor because it means a quick and cheap buzz.

Several people here have answered questions on behalf of other races, and I think they've given illuminating answers. But as a general rule it's probably safe to assume that a person of X race has spent a lot more time around other X people and can probably offer more insight than a Y person -- even if they themselves don't live up to the stereotype. I think I did a tolerable job talking about taxidermy and northface, even though I've never hunted and the only northface jacket I own was a gift.

I figured if this thread produced anything at all, it might offer insights into how some stereotypes came to be, and it might provide insight into some real-world trends. It has done a bit of both while keeping the actual racism at lower levels than I would have expected from chit chat.

Things I have learned so far:

1) The low number of African Americans in Mexican restaurants can be attributed to a heretofore little-known reactionary conservative bent with regards to cuisine.
2) There really is weird porn in Japan.
3) Black hair is different enough from white hair that it requires radically different washing regimens.
4) The black tipping stereotype (which I never found really accurate in my tip-related working career) is attributed to a self-sustaining cycle of bad tips for bad service caused by the expectation of bad tips.
5) Everybody likes fried chicken, although a handful of mutants do not like watermelon.
6) White people think black women are all fat.
7) Asians can't agree on whether they like beans.
8) Nobody can agree on what kind of cornbread is good.

Overall I think it's been quite productive.

I too think this thread is productive. I lived in San Francisco for several years and have seen lots of different races but you never ask these questions, then again I was young and didn't think in the same terms as I do now.
