You could make a box tornado proof if you anchored it into the ground with steel cables. This is not feasible in most cases though.

Yes, smaller, more cost effective, and mainly used to protect you for a short amount of time from fire, water, and your house collapsing on you in an event of a tornado or hurricane.

It can even protect you from bullets when the revolution starts.

Skack is on the right track. You hook the steel box to a merry go round with a shaft capable of rotating clockwise or counterclockwise. When the tornado comes through, you will rotate with the same velocity as the winds and it will feel like a normal plane ride. It's all about the physics.

This idea is not new or original. Safe rooms have been around for years, FEMA has a whole website dedicated to their design and construction

Also, I just engineered am entire 5000 square foot house with a custom made safe room (that I designed) included and the total invoice was around $1500. So good luck with your $4000-6000 endeavor

Your opinion about the proposal being a good idea is complete waste of typing because 1) the proposal has already been successful on a larger scale for the rich and 2) you admit that I'm not the original creator of the idea. 3) You fail to recognize the scope of the idea and who it's marketed to and 4) You fail to recognize that the world changes and we adapt to those changes

This was an invention "proposal" meaning I put the idea out there so that other people can think about it. Not everything is about money. Nor do I desire to profit from this intellectual property. Whether you or someone else acts upon this information now or 20 years in the future, my aspirations is that the idea has been planted in people's minds because I do not have to resources to experiment, fund, or time for this invention.

Since you guys love pizza so much, let me put this is pizza terms.
You say pizza exists already and advocate you should not open a business to make a different, possibly better, type of pizza.
So while saferooms already exist, you advocate not making a better, smaller, more cost effective, and abundant version of a saferoom.

Ok well there is no exact wind speed here because a straight line wind would never lift a square as there is nothing to give it lift. Even if the wind was 1000mph, the box would not go into the air. The wind also, would never come from directly underneath the box because that is impossible so the angle at which the wind comes in at is going to determine how fast the wind needs to be.

If it was coming from directly underneath (like a skydiving superfan) you would need >1200lb of force to lift the box.

You can't specify the speed without knowing the mass of the air. Mass of air in a downdraft/updraft situation is tough to predict because downdraft air is supercold and the moisture content can vary significantly. This is one of the reasons why downbursts and microbursts cause so much damage. Cold, dense heavy air is able to apply more force than warmer air.
