Shall we expect some transatlantic military giant, to step the Ocean, and crush us at a blow? Never! All the armies of Europe, Asia and Africa combined, with all the treasure of the earth (our own excepted) in their military chest; with a Buonaparte for a commander, could not by force, take a drink from the Ohio, or make a track on the Blue Ridge, in a trial of a thousand years.
At what point then is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer, if it ever reach us, it must spring up amongst us. It cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen, we must live through all time, or die by suicide. 4/20/2012 9:22:35 AM

Pfffft, the U.S. has been in cyber and economic war with China for years....which in my opinion is 1) more costly than a traditional physically fought war and 2) is the new(er) face of war between deveoped countries. 4/20/2012 9:34:07 AM

[NO], Russia is not even a little bit close, other than ICBM capability. 4/20/2012 9:35:04 AM

Russia has decent fighter jet and submarine technology. When I said they are close to US, I meant they are 2nd, albeit a distant 2nd.
I'm convinced that should a global nuclear holocaust break out, the safest place on the planet would be a US nuclear submarine.

Quote : | "Again, completely incorrect use of the word liberal. If you were aware of what liberal actually means you would know that there is no such thing as a liberal war. Those words do not go together. The concept does not exist. Stop using it to describe policies you disagree with when they are actually neoconservative policies. You have no idea what you're talking about. Although that's not particularly surprising considering your generally stupid policy positions.
Also, you show complete ignorance into the complex issues facing the United States military in these wars. Promoting the policies you support would only endanger American citizens at home and abroad over the long term." |
No. It's the liberal-like policies and procedures used in war to save face, play nice, etc. And thanks for the personal attack! And calling them liberal policies, etc. isn't my phrase. I'll see if I can find the book which describes how we conduct war now, which uses that phrase. And I find it difficult that you can know my full opinion on war and military issues just from a statement on one part of a very large and complex issue. Maybe you have no idea what you're talking about. And since you seem to know me so well, what other "stupid policy positions" do I hold?

we would fair better in a shooting war v china or russia than we currently are v ignorant middle-eastern peons.
russia and china would fight exactly the kind of war we are geared for. blasting dunecoonsLOL not so much, 4/20/2012 11:37:48 AM
