Page 2 wants Reynolds to find a home!

Quote : | "what shots, how much, what needed? " |
She's up to date on her first round of puppy shots. She'll come with vet papers you can take to your vet that shows she's gotten everything she needs so far. She'll need another round in about 4 months I think. She's also been spayed.
$75 adoption fee. If there's really a concern about the fee, we can discuss it.
And I'm not sure what you mean by what needed. She comes with everything to make her a happy fit (except a kennel).

^^^ Some places charge $300+ as an "adoption fee" so I can understand why someone would ask. Cute dog, just not what I'm looking for. 5/7/2012 9:28:01 AM

Damn. That's a cute dog. If I just didn't put a deposit on another puppy, I'd drive up to Raleigh and get him.
Also...clean that rug. 5/7/2012 9:28:06 AM

I think I'm having separation anxiety worse than she is today. I miss that cute little booger. It's going to be so hard to give her up when we find her a home.
We have one person who wants to meet her on Saturday, so that's a good sign! 5/7/2012 10:56:56 AM

how did she come into foster care? abandoned, given up, or just fostering for owners until a home is found? 5/7/2012 11:47:49 AM
|
Beethoven All American 4080 Posts user info edit post |
Mother dog was being fostered by my sister. When she took the mother in, she was pregnant. They had a litter of 8 puppies. All the other ones found homes, except sweet Reynolds. My sister already has 4 personal and 3 foster dogs at her house, so Reynolds is going to stay with us until she can be placed, since she's really out of space in her home for another puppy.
Luckily, she's never been in the shelter, so she doesn't have any of the dangers you would associate with a shelter dog.

honestly, if people have trouble coming up with $75, they shouldn't be in charge of another living things well being. 5/7/2012 3:04:11 PM

when you first get this dog, you'll drop much more than that. vet check-up (always recommended with new pet even if they've been checked out before), heartworm, tick/flea, and the extras, depending on your current stock (crate, food, treats, toys, etc.). Easily several hundred dollars.

I just wanted to ask.... i completely agree.. we spend at-least $200/ month just feeding and changing litter for our two cats, dog and chinchilla. 5/7/2012 3:09:01 PM

I seriously wish this was like 2.5 months later
We're in a all-carpet apartment in Raleigh until Aug 1 when we're moving into a all vinyl downstairs townhome in Gainesville FL. I already had planned on getting a dog when we moved but I really don't want to housetrain and worry about a puppy in the current apt.
Plus the size restrictions at the new place are pretty low and no guarantees of finding such a cool dog down there (in a much smaller town).
And my son is 20 mo so hearing she is good with toddlers is even more frustrating 5/7/2012 3:14:12 PM

Is chinchilla food expensive because we don't spend nearly that much on our two cats and dog 5/7/2012 3:16:30 PM

We have three cats, and don't spend that much!
BUT... I do agree with your point. $75 is not a lot, and it covers vital medical stuff that most people would have to cover anyways (and a big-ass bag of puppy food). I just don't want her to miss out on a loving home because $75 is hard to swing or something.
^^She's really been very good with house training so far... you just have to watch her. She's only had two accidents, and one is because she pushed the kennel door open at night (I didn't latch it properly), and she was wandering around on her own.

I have been considering getting a 3rd dog. Would she be OK outside most of the time with my other 2 dogs? (a 70lb Black Lab and a 80lb Pointer Mix). We bring them inside every night. Also, there may be times where she would be outside for an entire weekend or possibly an entire week, like when we go out of town and such. There is plenty of shelter out there (a huge barn and dog houses), and our neighbors come down and feed when we go out of town.
My only concern with adopting a smaller dog is that they are typically not suited to be outdoors that much.

i really want this dog.
her big paws definitely make it look like she's going to grow tall. probably a thin, lanky, thing.
i'm honestly shocked that every other part of her litter was adopted and she was left alone...was she the runt of the litter? was there that much difference? poor thing] 5/7/2012 4:47:16 PM

She has been an outdoor dog her entire life so far, with the exception of her time at my house. So, she's done pretty well. However, she really prefers to have company (be it people or other dogs). So, I don't think she'd do well outside alone (I know you said you have other dogs). She's fine with big dogs.
As a disclaimer, for those of you on the fence, there is someone scheduled to come see her tonight, and someone else for Saturday night. So, if you want her, gotta get a move on! 5/7/2012 4:48:08 PM

eehh dog is allergic to chicken so she gets deer/lamb mix costs $80/month cats cost like $30/month in food then $15/ week in litter + jeager (chinchilla) costs 10-15 per month + bedding, then adding milkbones/rawhides and cat treats we're easily over $200/month 5/7/2012 9:04:46 PM
