I don't think it's strange at all, but I acknowledge my opinion on that is not wide received (Justin for instance would not agree with me).

My original plan was to let him wean himself, but I hoped for 18 mos. Teething got to be a little much, and I wrestled with sticking with it or stopping. After he bit me 4 times in one day, I went to pumping exclusively. Pumping unfortunately isn't as efficient as he is and I yielded less each session so we had to supplement with formula. Now we're all formula. I'm glad I did for 9 months though. And I applaud anyone that breastfeeds or pumps for even a little bit or attempts. It's not easy, but it's also a very wonderful time too.

Apparently my mom didn't breastfeed with me after she did so with my sister. Citing a lot of reasons that people have already listed and it wasn't that big of a deal back then.

I'm pretty fucking short...but I'm smart as a whip, well above average athletic, and I rarely get sick. Fuck breast feeding...being tall is overrated.

For those of you who will never read the article, the mom on that cover is a bit obsessed with parenting IMO.

Basically she quit her job to focus on getting pregnant. She breastfed her first kid until six, going into premature labor with her second kid because she was still breastfeeding the first kid while pregnant. She and her husband never go out on date nights. She never goes out with her friends without her kids. The only time either of her kids have been out of her sight is when she was in labor with the second kid. Will she go to school with her kids, too?

3 is bordeline in my book (I think 2 is a good cutoff), but 5 or 6 or 8 is fucking crazy.

Once kids have a sense of self, it should be stopped. And that starts around age 2.

So I can't judge her for still breastfeeding her 3 year old, but I can definitely judge her for having a picture like that taken with a giant 3 year old for the whole world to see. "Johnny let's go to the studio so you can suck on my breasts and the nice man can take a picture of it so it can go on the cover of a magazine".

They can start teething as young as three months while most recommend breastfeeding at least a year.

Yeah, this woman is going to be nothing but a source of embarrassment when her kids hit their teens. Or maybe she'll be the friend mom that scores booze for her kids and their friends. breastfeeding to extended ages is essential for life where soy swill isn't available. it will never be "disgusting" and maybe if you'd all spent a little more time on the tit, you could appreciate mature human sexuality which doesn't have infantile breast obsession as its sole focus.
