Slept at my mom's house last night. Woke up at 11 (my brothers were there and they always stay up after 3 am). Had some microwave pancakes for breakfast. Showered, played some games, and chatted with my brothers when they woke up. My mom got home from church and we put together a new grill for a cookout we had that afternoon. Meanwhile my sister arrived with her fiance and their two kids. They watched Despicable Me while my older brother grilled the food. Afterwards, we played some Mario Party 9 followed by Street Fighter X Tekken. Then I hugged everyone good-bye and drove home.

Ate good food with friends. played starcraft 2 a lot. watched youtube videos starring polarizing personality penn gillette and am, as a result, re-evaluating some political views. also am re-evaluating whether i should re-evaluate what kind of things i allow to catalyze re-evaluation.

i shouldn't say "polarizing" i reckon. "irritating" is actually a more accurate description as I take "polarizing" to mean "causes others to hold faster to one's already held beliefs"
whatever. he's funny and reminds of someone else i can't think of. maybe his voice. very california sounding (to me)

(4 hrs sleep grrr )
6 am - left for work. Showered last night.
7 am - get to Newport. Convo en route... Boss: OMG the last employee stole the laptop with all our client data! Me: Maybe it was left on the boat while it was moved to the shipyard to get spruced up. Boss: I looked already. Me: I'll check too.
715 - 830am - dug through the hold and home office inventory. Boss: Yeah, we know it's not here. Hey could you call up the last employee and tell him to go look for it? He liked you the best.
9am - Employee left town with the wrong car, has his wife check the other car. Laptop has been in his trunk for days. Oh the humidity!
9:15 am - Marketing manager has stepped out of the restaurant she works at part-time to panic-explain a last minute application we need to send in before participating in a chowder cookoff. Needs us to fill out the application and drive it up to Providence before 11. Called the accountant who had it, asked him to fill out what he could and headed over to get it.
9:20 am - Arrive home office. He has filled out two blanks before admitting he had no idea what he was doing. Filled out the rest.
9:30 am - Depart Newport.
10:30 am - Arrive Providence. Submit application.
12pm - Arrive Newport. Reimbursed for gas!
12:30pm - 3:30pm - Designed sandwich board poster - 2 different sides. Summer calendar rocks.
4:00pm - The employee with the laptop arrives out of the blue. Arranges a date ghetto-style in 15 minutes. I park by the rotary and watch a really funny fender bender until he arrives and passes the pack through the shotgun window like a dealer. Boss is happy.
4:30pm - OMG! goes the marketing manager. The Providence Phoenix deadline is today! We weren't even going to do this but now we are! Steph can you throw together an ad?
5pm - Leave for Dartmouth.

Went to the Kanki for dinner with my family to celebrate my cousin's 40th birthday.

A lady and her daughter who was in her late 20s, or early 30s, had to sit near me at the table. All her daughter did is talk about dating and her online dating account. She said, "He was really nice, but then he said he was paralyzed from the neck down, so I quit responding to his e-mails." Then she was talking about some other guy who e-mailed her and how he said he doesn't like sand because it gets all over everything, so she quit e-mailing him too since she likes going to the beach. Then she deleted her account, but he still contacted her. Then she told her mom how she was at the bar with her friend one night and said "Maybe we aren't as pretty as we think we are." Then she went on to tell her mom how she tries to smile more when she is at the bar now. After that she told her mom how she doesn't like the idea of meeting people at the gym. She said she goes there to work out and not to find a date.

On a scale of 1 to 10 I would say she was maybe a 6. Plus I think she was kind of a physco.

Amelia has just been discharged from the hospital after having cleft palate surgery, so I'm pushing drugs and working to keep her hydrated (she's refusing liquids, but taking purees). To keep track, I've been writing shit down all day. So today is ideally suited for over sharing my day.

4:30 am: Dosed Amelia with oxycodone and coaxed her into 1 ounce of formula.
7:30 am: Dosed Amelia with ibuprofen, ear drops, 2 tbs of baby food, and 1 ounce of formula.
9:00 am: Dosed Amelia with oxycodone, coaxed her into 1 tbs of baby food and .5 ounce of formula. I put in an order for groceries online.
9:52 am: One ounce of formula. We both catch a nap.
12:00 pm: 1 ounce of juice with 1 tbs or so of rice cereal. Dosed with ibuprofen.
12:30 pm: I took a shower.
1:30 pm: Inlaws show up with Silas and watch Amelia while I pick up groceries.
2:30 pm: Dose Amelia with oxycodone, 1 ounce of juice, and 1 tbs of rice cereal. Say good bye to my inlaws.
4:00 pm: Husband gets home.
Somewhere in here, I cook dinner and we eat dinner. I also figure out how to safety pin her arm restraints (to keep her from ruining the surgeon's work) to her clothes to keep her from Houdini-ing her way out of them.
7:00 pm: Dose Amelia with the last of the ibuprofen. Decide to go pick up more, leaving the kids with husband.
7:30 pm: End up at my mother's house to drop off her sunglasses that she left at my place. Her husband fractured his pelvis over the weekend. I end up hanging out and chatting awhile.
9:00 pm: Leave and finally go pick up ibuprofen. Grab some girl beer while I am at it. Get a phone call from my mother in law and chat while I'm driving home.
9:50 pm: Arrive home to my husband playing Diablo and my son massacring a cantaloupe with a pair of nail scissors. Fuss at husband who is for once owning up to his lazy parenting. I unclog the drain in the master shower while he cleans up the mess Silas made and puts Silas to bed.
10:20: We get Amelia up and feed her frozen yogurt. She eats it enthusiastically. Yay! Dose her with more oxycodone. Clean the kitchen with my husband.
10:30: Sitting at my computer, drinking girl beer, and posting on TWW.

Woke up on my second day of vacation and went for a run along the boardwalk. End up having to stop in an arcade for 15 minutes because it started to storm 2 miles in, when I finally got back to the hotel I was soaking wet ugh

Then I showered and had lunch at an irish pub which had awesome burgers lol

Since it was rainy/cloudy we decided to go to a bunch of local wineries and then we ate at a seafood place everyone recommended. The food could have been better

Well, it's kinda like their blue eyes. Mine are blue and his are blue, so our kids' are blue. I had a cleft palate, my husband had a cleft lip, so it's not terribly shocking that both of our kids had some combination.
