I've never bought a pair and don't plan to. I typically just wear whatever people get me as gifts. I don't really care that much to go spend my money on shit like sandals. I will say that I've enjoyed my 2 pair of Rainbows over the last 12 years or so.

Also, I never experienced break-in pain while wearing Rainbows. Maybe you all don't know how to wear sandals .

I feel like most people get a little sore between the toes. Playing soccer growing up, I feel like the adidas soccer sandals pushed my toes together (not to mention narrow cleats).

So the thong in a sandal rubbed in between my toes a lot when I first started wearing them. But then my feet got use to it and I was fine.

And I echo the sentiment on Rainbows. I might have had one or two pairs of those in the beginning, but I'm mostly Reef now. Cheaper and more comfortable.

I think you're supposed to take the douche out of the box and rinse them down BEFORE wearing them, not after

True...I'd like to think I'd still be rocking reefs if I was living in Raleigh...weather permitting (I'll debate putting on shoes if it drops below 60 degrees).

my (already broken-in) rainbows left a little red mark between my toes when it was finally warm enough for me to bust them out post-winter a few weeks ago

for the first time in nearly 10 years my feet had to get used to wearing flip flops

it was depressing, cold weather sucks

i'm in need of some new flip flops. i've been rocking the reefs the last couple of pair but would like to go back to a leather flop that doesn't get slick when wet (like me old pair of rainbows). i liked the reefs but the rubber gets really smelly. plus the band stretched out so much that my toes hang over the front and i have a lot of room in the back. any recommendations?

Everybody knows that to break in rainbow sandals you soak them in water, but a baseball in them and wrap rubber bands around them until they dry. DUH.

Here is your solution. Reef Leather Fanning. I have these and they are excellent--most comfortable sandals I've ever worn and hold up well. Yes, the soles are still rubber/some sort of composite, but I've not had any problems with them picking up smells.

I love my rainbows! I have 3 pairs that are ~10 years old and they're still in great shape.
