My point was that if the Insight was designed to take on the Prius, it needs to come to the party with comparable gear. You cannot, in fact, buy a 2nd gen insight without AC.

A car that has AC, Radio, Tilt Wheel, and Pwr Windows, needs CC. Especially since the car is DBW and CC is just programming changes...

Even the base model 6th gen civic came with carpet.

I know you can buy cars without AC. How many of those 9,999 versas do you think sold?

The Insight was specifically designed to be the cheapest hybrid on the market. And it does undercut the Prius by several thousand dollars, all the while being inferior to the Prius in every way...

and it's not like a Ridgeline could possibly drive worth a shit, anyway. When it comes to vehicles that exist for their utility, I'd much rather have a whole lot more utility (with a 4-door real pickup truck) than marginally less sucky driving.

Didn't have it as in it was not an option? That would be really strange, even for a hardcore sport sedan like the Evo. Didn't have it as in the owner chose not to add it? Preference there.

I agree, though, that it's not necessarily standard as a matter of course.

Eco IX is not electronic throttle so cruise requires extra hardware compared to a newer engine with drive-by-wire.

let's be real, though, CC predates drive-by-wire by a LOOOOONG time, and it wasn't really a big deal or considered a highly sought-after and high-class option...it's just something that most cars have, and have had for a long time.

my point was just that it isn't really alarming that a base Versa doesn't have it.

I agree. The Hyundai Genesis R spec (at least, up through 2012 model year) doesn't even offer it. I refuse to own a car without cruise control.

Fucking thing looks like a Pontiac Aztek with a hood scoop. Also those specs were impressive...15 years ago when you could get roughly the same thing from an AWD Mitsu Evo.

It's about 200 lb heavier than the Si. And roughly 200-400 lb lighter than it's AWD competitors (Golf R, STI & FoRS listed in ascending heftiness).
